Do i need DLC for season 7 ?
Hi,
I refused to buy the expasion, because I'm against forced coop content so logically I won't pay not even one dollar. However, I still gave them enough money for early access and battlepasses (s1(free),s2,s3,s4 ) . I like the game but i'm now lost, cuz i stop follow game .

My question ? This Mercenaries do i need them for maximum progress with character ?
The extension includes something to make the process easier ?
Can i play season without without limitation ? ( items locked, power locked )

Nope, you can play it without the Spiritborn and everything that comes with it. You can't do the runes and you will have a slightly harder time completing it. See it as a challenge. Completely doable.

"Once the Season starts, log onto the game, create a new Seasonal character, and enjoy! If you have not completed the Prologue yet, you will need to complete it on one character to gain access to seasonal content. The Free Battle Pass is automatically available to all Seasonal characters."
Actually yes you do. From my understanding a good part of the main focus of Season 7 will be Witchcraft powers attached to Rune words, You will not have access to Rune Words if you do not have the Expansion and thus probally wont really be able to play alot of the new content.

This is going to be a thing going forward, they want you to have the Expansion, they will not cater to you if you didnt buy it, You will just simply miss out.

I doubt that. But we will see in a few days, I guess.

I can't find anywhere that says Witchcraft is connected to Runes at all.

I'd assume it works just like Season 2's Vampire Powers.

You'll be fine in Seasonal.

I was mistaken after looking it back up. The Witchcraft Powers themselves are not tied to rune words. However, there will be new Ritual Runes and new Invocation Runes. So if you don't care about the Rune Words then tha tmight be the only thing you can't do.

So yea, you might be fine then without the Expansion, seems like you might be able to do the exclusive questlines and the bulk of the new seasons content without it.

Seasonal content as of right now is not tied to owning the expansion. Your just locked out of Spiritborn, Mercenaries and Runes in terms of character progression.

In terms of content your locked out of Undercity and the Dark Citadel, the latter of which I assume is what you meant by forced co-op content.

So, yes you can play the season. At current, rune words and merc's technically make up a part of most end game builds to give you a little extra boost, but they aren't neccessary.

You also, as for my understanding, miss out on 7 (i think?) skill points from new area's renown and some paragon points, so you'll have to tweak your build somewhat if following guides. Which is total BS tbh. I'm fine with not being able to play forced co-op activity 'cause i play exclusively solo anyway unless it's uber bosses grind, nor do i care for mercs or spiritborne but locking out SP and paragon behind paid content is just... ugh.

You miss out on 2 skill points, 1 potion capacity, +80 to your max obols and 4 paragon points.

Unlike the Altars of Lilith, the Tenets of Akarat do not give anything other than XP and renown to the zones faction. No free stats or skill points from them.

Of the things you lose, only the skill points really hurt as points in skills can make a big difference. Most builds hit peak efficiency at around 200-230 Paragon so the extra 4 points don't mean a whole lot.

Also, while currently there isn't, I would not assume this will remain all that your locked out of. I expect at somepoint there will be an uber boss or two placed in the new zone, though that might be a way off since they have yet to add one to Scosglen.

Hmm, only 2 SP, tho is still not great. Eh, i uninstalled already anyway, so whatever. And it's not that i can't buy that worthless (for me) expansion, it's just like 2 times more expensive due to economic situations in my country. Can't even buy it directly so dollar ex. rate 2x more of what it should be plus commission of sellers on funpay/ggsel and it's just too damn expensive. Sucks to be me ig.
