Game consumes a lot of data?
Not trying to slam or shame blizzard or anything here. But for every 4 hours of gameplay my mobile hotspot consumes about 600mbps of data. ??? This makes zero sense to me as not even world of warcraft or any other online game I play does this. And yes, I game on a mobile hotspot. Why? Because it's as fast and as efficient as a ground router if not EVEN MORE efficient as in there is never peak hours or cutoff times, it works nonstop throughout the entire day. More than can be said of spectrum. It is highest speeds. How does it benefit me? Well I game on a ASUS ROG STRIX and a GPD WIN 2. Meaning I can game anywhere any time. I state these because when I asked in game people were mocking me for using a mobile hotspot to game. Now my allowance is 30 GB per month, which is very gracious for someone who works two jobs and gets pretty much only the weekends to game. But lately Diablo 4 has been maxing out my mobile data like crazy.

My question is why? and how can I fix it? I'm going to cut back on playing the game because of it as a solution. To me it's crazy ARK: Survival Ascended takes up 1/12th the data that Diablo 4 does

They accidentally programmed it so that every time another player enters your game you download their entire stash, data, outfits, stats, progress, etc into active memory. Nothing is compressed and they have no idea to compress it or work around it which is why they limit stash capacity and also tied to why they can't solve stash duping.

Ever noticed when you teleport to a town with other players your game freezes for 5 seconds? That's all this data coming simultaneously.

This would make sense, because i can often run fine on the gimped network but notice when trying to load some areas at times I lose the connectivity services and it gives me the wheel in corner saying "reconnecting". But its decently rare to happen and almost so random I couldn't really place a finger on it. Seeing as this game isn't that popular I think you may be right.

Rigs do not increase bandwidth flow from servers, lol. You can spend a million $ on a super computer and this game will still lag.
