^-- This is the best way as you can't "delete" crafting mats and getting rid of all that gold one could have would take awhile.
You can just keep crafting until you're out of all mats and then just throw the stuff on the ground. The same with money - Buy from vendors until you're out. But, those would be tortuous things to do...
BUT:
This is one reason why I'm so fond of playing only Seasonal/League play in ARPGs. (Diablo3-4 and sometimes D2R/Path of Exile) Every few months, I get to start over!
PS: I don't know if it's possible, but if the gold and mats are not account bound like Mounts/etc, then by deleting all one's characters, one "might" be able to start over from scratch. BUT - Ones Reputation/certain Waypoints, past Achievement in completing the Campaign, Alters of Lillith and the things that get passed on from Season to Season, ARE account-bound.
