Why is this game boring?
No comparison to POE, PO2, LE etc. Those games does their own thing, but why is Diablo 4 boring to play. Whenever I log on after 10 mins I just log off. I have seen several people saying same thing. This game doesn't have any encouragement to make the player play.

What is the reason this game as a standalone feels boring as hell?

This game has the cinematic, story is boring now with that kid it's more boring, That kid should have got killed int he first place. The game is made by biggest company on this planet. they have all the money, talent, employee numbers but the game is still boring to play.

Forget all ARPGs in the market.

let us discuss as a standalone game this game is boring and not good enough.

Don't know if this is another low-quality bait post ('cause it seems that you don't even own the game) but, in case it isn't, heed my words: if you want a game with a deep story, go out and play the Half Life series and/or Baldur's Gate 3

"Forget all ARPGs in the market.

let us discuss as a standalone game this game is boring and not good enough."

Translation: "Forgot any meaningful discussion, just mindlessly flame the game because I desperately need validation for my dislike. Please, fellow internet strangers, assemble like a support group and chant in unison: "Yes, your boredom is valid! The game is objectively bad because you yawned !"

You logged in, blinked twice, and declared the game a snoozefest, clearly the hallmark of airtight critique. The story bored you? Shocking. The kid should've died? Brutal. And because Blizzard has "all the money" , their game must, by divine decree, cater exclusively to your attention span (which, if we are benchmarking at 10 minutes, might explain the struggle).

But sure, lets "discuss" why D4 "as a standalone game" is "boring and not good enough" . Step one - Dismiss all other ARPGs (irrelevant!). Step two - Ignore design intent (who needs it!). Step three - Declare universal truth based on personal nap schedule. Flawless logic.

Maybe the real endgame was the drama we crafted along the way.

Ah, the "I spent $500 on a POE2 supporter pack for whats essentially slightly upscaled Diablo 3 reject skins" cope arc. Of course you need D4 to suck - otherwise, how do you justify those "freemium" MTX prices for armor sets that look like they escaped asset flip and lost a fight with a 2012 graphics card?

But hey, keep malding on forums, every "Diablo ded game" post is just another prayer to the sunk-cost gods, begging them to confirm you didnt flush your rent money down the "but muh superior ARPG" toilet. Stay strong, king. Maybe if you squint hard enough, copium works as an anti-aliasing filter for those bargain-bin polygons.

100 usd for a single armor set and you are over here doing free PR work for GGG while rage-posting about D4. Now those are some interesting priorities! Those low-poly wings have to be worth it.

It's just another lost soul from the POE2 circus, where the real endgame isn't killing monsters, it's trying not to get scammed in trade chat by someone offering "3 Alteration Orbs and a Dream" for your Headhunter.

Meanwhile, here in the Diablo Unholy Lands, we are too busy having actual fun to worry about whether that "6-link" we just bought is actually just a screenshot of someones socks. We cultured elites prefer our roguelikes pure, no spreadsheets, no barter-system PTSD, just good old-fashioned loot explosions and actually playing the damn game. Stay strong, fellow Diablo-like purists and proud elitists. Our community is so tight-knit, we probably still share loot like it's 2004, back when "free loot" didn't mean bait for a RMT scam, while they are out here playing Path of Spreadsheets and Trust Issues. Ah yes, we are so primitive we still believe in "fair trades". How quaint.

Let them mald. They'll come crawling back… right after they get price-fixed for the 17th time today and 18th "WTB [item] 1c less than market" whisper gets ignored.

Btw, those POE2 players are celebrating the imminent update of their EA game. Little they know that, as it seems, it will remain in EA forever xD:

The price of copium, "A POE2 Players Guide to Financial Ruin"
Lets break down the staggering value proposition of these two games, shall we?

POE1s "Kiracs Vault Pass" (release date: 2023 - Last seen before extinction),
GGG quickly realized they could milk harder. Now, they are too busy exclusively release "premium" battle passes every month for $500, because why sell equivalent content for less, when you can exploit FOMO and addiction)

$30 for the privilege of dressing-one-character in what looks like a rejected Diablo3 concept art. Meanwhile, Diablo 4s battlepass is practically a charity event.

Contents: One (1) skin. Plus some animations, if you squint hard enough.

Actual Value: Roughly equivalent to a Mc Donalds Happy Meal toy, but with more pixelated disappointment

Diablo 4's Battle Pass ($10 USD / 1000 Platinum):

Contents:

2 mount skins + 2 horse armors + enough mount accessories to make your steed look like it robbed a fantasy boutique.

2 premium armor sets (all classes) with ambient effects that dynamically shift colors based on your palette choices (yes, actual visual tech, not 2012-era shaders).

1 free armor set (all classes).

Weapon skins (some free - like this season's premium-quality animated 2-handed mace proving even free stuff slaps),

3 animated portal skins (one free),

four spirit tombstone skins (because even your corpse deserves to flex)

emoticon for every class with different animation

Oh, and 700 Platinum back, meaning the next pass only costs you $3.

Actual Value: More content quality than POE2s entire $500 "supporter pack," but for the price of a mediocre lunch. All that just for 10 bucks and you get 70% return - it's a steal.

Just like POE2 $500 "supporter pack" , is a steal... in the other way around. You know - the kind where you're the one getting robbed blind while pretending it's "supporting the devs" as your wallet gets chainsawed by Chris Wilson himself. The kind where you wake up missing a kidney or two outside a back alley RMT site or in a ditch outside GGG HQ....
But hey, at least you get that warm fuzzy feeling knowing your $500 "supporter pack" bought someone at GGG a new yacht while your character still looks like they looted a dumpster behind a TJ Maxx.

If you love paying $500 for a single armor set while pretending it is a "passion project" POE2 is your cult. The rest of us will be busy actually playing a game where the devs don't treat us like ATMs with Stockholm syndrome. At least when Blizzard robs us, they give us a reach-around with 70% cashback. GGG just pockets the money and laughs all the way to the bank - while you thank them for the privilege.

Keep those $500 receipts handy - you'll need them to:

  • Wipe tears when POE2's "early access" ends in 2035

  • Light on fire when they announce POE3 with actual D4-level graphics

  • Frame as a warning to future generations about sunk-cost fallacy

Better yet - take that "supporter pack" money and:

  • Buy a GPU instead of struggling to render POE2s "groundbreaking" 2015-era textures - must be real immersive flexing your $500 whale status while your "next-gen ARPG" looks like a PowerPoint presentation set to 1998 mode.

  • Invest in therapy to unpack why you think $500 pixels = "good value"

  • Purchase Diablo IV and ten years of battle passes with money left over

Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be enjoying my three future season passes (paid for with leftover Platinum) while you're trying to explain to your spouse why your (((free game))) needs another $500 "donation" this month and pretending your pixelated wings make you "half-important" and "desirable" in a community that values spreadsheets over fun.

If you enjoy lighting money on fire to cosplay as a FTP pleb in a whales shadow, by all means - keep "supporting" GGG. Meanwhile, the rest of us will be over here playing a game instead of justifying our existence through forum tantrums.
