CHAR - SEASON 7
Hi! I’m new to the game and Have some questions:

1- What happens with your character when season 6 is over and season 7 launches ? I notice that it is written “seasonal” on the menu that you choose your character.

2- On season 7, items levels will go up ? Past 800 ?

2- How Diablo IV servers works ? At World of Warcraft you can choose which game server (realm) you want to play. I did not see that on Diablo.

Thanks!

It will be moved to eternal realm where all old characters can be still played. It is realm without new seasonal content. (only new seasonal charactes can play seasonal content).

In this new realm, I need to start leveling from 0 ? Or do I start at lvl 60 ?

With each season you have to start a completely new character and earn most of the things again. That's exactly why I don't play Diablo anymore.

this isn't exclusive to diablo and it isn't the first game that does it

There is two sorts of "realms", characters created on the eternal realm (opt-out of season at char creation) stay there, sharing all their progress and stash.
Characters created for season start at zero, and only can share stash with other seasonal chars.
Once the season ends, all seasonal chars incl. level and their stuff will be ported over to the eternal realm, and can be accessed there.
To play a new season, you always have to start back at zero, but you can access your chars on the eternal realm whenever you want.
Eternal realm might get some seasonal content added later on (1-2 seasons delay), like new uniques or aspects, but specific season mechanics and rewards will only be available to seasonal characters.

then other games do the same thing. I still don't understand why. I want to continue playing with my character and not start over. I don't have the time for that.

And that's why there is the Eternal Realm. You don't start over there. You can play your char as long as you want to, no resets.

That's not the point. It's about the fact that I have no choice and have to start a character if I want to play the season. Maybe I don't like the current season and want to continue playing in the next one. What that has to do with the Eternal Realm is beyond me.

That's today's flavor. You restart every couple of months to keep it fresh. It keep you engaged more so, than an over and out.

So far I haven't read a valid argument that says you have to create a new character for each season.

i was on same spot like you (d3 age). Same mindset. After long time i change my mind littlebit and give it shot. You can continue on eternal real, but there is no point do that.
Its not MMORPG. After your character is done is done. Just try it one time and you will see.

Season 7 - exile reborn
Or
Season 7 - cringeborn bugs reborn

The choice is yours
