In reality I wouldn't say it's worth it.
Personally I own Deluxe edition, but it was worth it for the 4 days of early access so I can beat the campaign in coop as soon as possible back in June. This is no longer the case, so that benefit of Deluxe&Ultimate is gone.
What's left in Ultimate is Accelerated Battle Pass.
You definitely don't need the Accelerated Battle Pass, because Diablo 4 has one of the best battle passes I've ever had the pleasure of completing. No really egregious time-based challenges, nothing that would stop you from progressing at your own pace. You get battle pass XP for doing challenges, yes, but 95% of them are not time-sensitive and you get Battle Pass XP for killing monsters. This means you can straight up ignore all challenges and still end up with maxed out battle pass.
In Season 1 Battle pass was completed naturally by the time you'd hit level 80, I expect it should be similar now. So no, the Accelerated Battle Pass is not worth it - it is redundant.
So, Ultimate (Accelerated battle pass and an Emote) seems like overkill. It comes down to the following choice:
Should you buy Base Game or Deluxe?
The Deluxe gives you:
Temptation Mount, Hellborn Carapace armor for mounts and the Battle Pass.
Do you want the Deluxe skin for mount & the mount armor? If yes, go for Deluxe, but if not - just buy the base game and then get Battle pass separately for $10, it should be the most cost effective combo.
This about sums it up.
Which could happen, and I forgot to mention that in the comment above.
Depending on the magnitude of such a sale, Deluxe could 'level up' in cost effectiveness as it would give you the extra mount cosmetics that you want AND the battle pass. Battle Pass wouldn't be on sale because it's an in-game purchase, it would always cost $10 in such a scenario and so the value of the Base game and Deluxe version would shift a little bit.
For example:
if the base game and the deluxe edition are at full price, Deluxe is 12.5% more expensive than Base + Battle Pass combo.
if the base game and the deluxe edition are both on -15% sale, Deluxe is now only 10% more expensive than Base + Battle Pass combo.
If the base game and the deluxe edition are both on -25% sale, Deluxe is now only 8% more expensive than Base + Battle Pass combo.
PlayStation just announced a 25% off event for Diablo IV.
Tier reduced prices as follows:
Standard: -25% = $52.49
Deluxe: -25% = $67.49
Ultimate: -25% = $74.99
So if you're indifferent to the platform, maybe consider the one that has the title on sale??
It's more likely that Diablo IV will be on sale on Steam as well.
