After 50 and the end of the campaign, D4 loses steam. The paragon points system is cool, but the end game content is thin and there aren’t many objectives to overcome to make the grind worthwhile.
What they say and what they do are two different things. To think we'll get more than one expansion for Diablo 4 is funny.
It's designed to be live service first, fun arpg second. Anyone disagreeing with that is confirmed shill. Only pro is dynamic cutscenes , but the rest is puerile trash.
The new changes to season 2 will make make a pretty big difference by the looks of it.
It might not be perfect and it dont feel or act like a MMO but its worth a buy.
Diablo 3 started as bad or even worst than 4. People forgot the auction house? Or how the servers where down and sh!t at release for days? The endcontent was meh too. Came all with time and seasons.
Once through the campaign was fun, but getting through Nightmare and Hell was the endgame, and the drop rates on the gear you needed to do that were really low. You'd get drops, but not always for your class, so you were supposed to go to the auction house and sell the drops you got for money to buy the drops you needed.
But a lot of folks didn't want to use the auction house, a lot of folks didn't want to use the REAL MONEY auction house to buy but almost everybody selling sold there, and if prices didn't line up you'd have to either spend actual money to cover the cost of gear, or hope that you could find what you needed on the gold auction house.
I get WHY Blizzard put an auction house inside D3 (because of how much money those shady item selling sites made off D2), but it just didn't work for the game. Blizzard made the right call when the ditched the AH and upped the drop rates.
I'm not going to tell anyone not to buy it or play it, that's your choice just know that no matter what they call it you are playing "Season of Development".
And I don't think it's bad now, just could be better.
Also it's the only aRPG where characters looks so good that people actually buy optional cosmetics and battle passes.
(but tbh most paid cosmetics sucks except for that one Season1 micro-dress-shirt for fem-rogue - and it is/was free with the base game)
