So is the DLC worth it?
I don't wanna hear about the crashing issues or anything. I get it, but I'm asking is the core gameplay good? I haven't played diablo in awhile but I'm interested in the DLC. Is it worth my $40 return?

no because all the expansion content was cut out from the launch

Don't buy it, don't buy it! If you buy it and can't use it, everything is garbage

Not really. Nothing really added to the old classes to warrant $40 IMHO.

Yes
New campaign is good, so is new class. New area looks sick. Haven't done raids yet.
If you have the money and wanna play, it's a way better investment than going to the cinema once.

I'm not sure because unfortunately i pre-purchased the dlc therefore i am unable to access the dlc because of a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ implementation. I quite literally paid early, so i could play late.

I think it depends on what you'll get out of it.

I've decided not to get it, but my focus is content for money, and honestly a 6 hour campaign, what looks like one raid that maybe takes a couple hours, so 8 hours for 60ish CAD, nope.

But, I think if you're more into the gameplay, will run a few to max level and do all end game content...you'd probably get quite a few hours out of it. So then it would be a yes. I know a friend that doesn't care about the campaign but likes the grind, and end game, and is interested in the new class, so he got it, and is enjoying it. But is complaining about some lag.

♥♥♥♥ no it's not worth it.
This was already in the game before and now its behind a paywall
They dropped a 'new character' but already have 7 new outfits each one being about $25

Watch people swoop in and defend this.
I have no clue why but Blizzard has the most devoted defenders in gaming who will make excuses for their horrible business practices and broken releases.

Blizzard specifically for some reason just get special treatment by so many people.

Edit: Also inb4 '' you don't own the game '', I bought it on the Battle.net sale earlier.

well he addresses that in the first minute, he says exactly what you say here but takes it a step further and says it'd be fully in his interest to sell you

but if you skip to the end, he basically just says if you liked diablo 4 at any point, its worth fckin with. if you didn't like it but want to try to return to it/never owned it, try the base game changes, then decide. if you currently like diablo 4, pick it up. totally reasonable, imho. tho he also says "$40 is a chipotle burrito, so its vessel of hatred or a diablo burrito" which is kinda dumb af lol (he's trying to say $40 doesn't get you much in the world anymore and that is correct but what a dumb analogy)

i linked it just cause he goes over the game's lifespan and whats changed to the basic experience, why it changed, and whats being added in the expansion

i lowkey really hate that i cant use old fits on the spiritborn, even the bp ones! i know diablo 4 really likes to get into your wallet and push you to the shop but i would think they could go that little extra bit to let me, idk, wear the bp gear

I knew it wasn't worth 40, but I still end up being disappointed. I'm mainly just reminded of core issues I have with the game that haven't been fixed. If you're unsure, I would say just try the season first and see how you enjoy it. If you don't enjoy that, you probably won't enjoy the expansion (unless maybe you're really into the new raid mode)

I have plenty of criticisms about D4, but paid cosmetics is at the bottom of my list. The free transmog options are better than 95% RPGs out there. Maybe some Korean MMOs. Skyrim doesn't count because it's only through mods.
