Thanks for your reply though.
There is a major change coming on October 8th with the release of a chunky patch 2.0
One of the redesigns is the entire difficulty system. Yes, the campaign WILL be quite challenging after patch 2.0 goes live as long as you pick Expert or Penitent difficulty.
So if that's specifically what you are after - wait for patch 2.0 to release and play the game then.
You can get it on Game Pass if you aren't sure if you want to buy the full game right away.
Yeah right now the difficulty is way down.
Have you checked out anything about Patch 2.0, though? :D
They are very much going to let you tweak difficulty going forward!
Easily the top3 best overall campaign in the history of hack'n'slash games, and the only other competitors are Diablo 2 and Diablo 3 which all belong to the same franchise as Diablo.
I personally think Diablo 4 has the best hack'n'slash campaign, period.
Story-wise it's really good. Difficulty-wise it's a joke. Also don't mention Diablo 3 alongside 2 and 4. 3 was trash, both in gameplay AND story.
On release it was decently hard, but the power creep since release definitely made the game too easy.
Tempering especially tipped the scales nowadays. But after me testing PTR of patch 2.0, I am confident that the extra difficulty levels - once they have final tuning on patch 2.0 release on October 8th - will make campaign very enjoyable challenge-wise once more.
Even if you do zero tempering it is still waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too easy. If you want to die once you have to put a serious effort into making it happen.
Looking forward to this.
Ok, I'll keep this game on the radar.
Thanks!
