Runewords will be a feature only accessible for those that purchase the Vessel of Hatred expansion. This makes sense as the same approach was made when Diablo 2 added the Lord of Destruction expansion which bought runewords to the game.
How does the RuneWords in D2 compare to D4?
I was reading up about it and I was told Runewords in D4 is a scam.
I forget the names for em, but there's 2 types of runes. One of them builds up, and the other uses the build up to do damage. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I wish I knew the terminology for it. There's better terms for everything I said lol.
Just watch a video if you want to learn how they work in Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred. No point looking at Diablo 2 to learn how Diablo 4 works.

I'm genuinely asking. Are you misusing the word, or have you heard they don't exist?
I have not looked at it as yet but from what the Path of Exile community says they sum it up as a poor half baked attempt to copy rune words from D2 and implementing an inferior version into D4 because the D4 team which is the D Immortal team in reality doesn't quite know how ARPG genre works.
bruh. Stop pretending you didn't understand what he meant just to pull some dictionary garbage on him because you don't agree. My god what did he do to hurt you looool.
I was actually wondering if it was a half-baked attempt as well because in D2, runewords WERE IT. Strongest items in the game handsdown. It appears as though our friend here is correct. I wouldn't use the word "scam" but I immediately understood what he was implying and wouldn't need go merriam-webster on the man. THese are half-baked as of right now but I'm sure they will get better with time considering all the changes D4 have been making are suprisingly exactly what the community wants.
Annnd just because I can tell your that type ill add this in. The blue hoodied Raxxx dude who literally plays this game religiously since launch and gets paid to do so for a living, also agrees that he doesn't like the current state of the runewords and doesn't think its a good fit for diablo 4.
for real. id rather watch a stream of paint drying than listen to his monotone banter and memes
Also the D4 iteration is better imo than the old D2 stuff. If you want D2 runewords and just D2 in general... idk, just play D2R?
