random email from Blizzard, action taken: account closure
I'm sat at work and I get an email from blizzard telling me my account has violated the blizzard end user agreement?

apparently my account is now closed for "conduct of this nature", which I've no idea what they are talking about.

I bought the game after the free weekend, have played 3/4ths of the campaign (level 50), have spoken to no one in game, i don't have an offensive name. what gives?

I play on Steam deck, own the game on steam, don't use VPNs.

anyone any idea?

submit a ticket to blizzard? how would anyone here know why

Cheating, RMT, botting, macros, exploits? You don't just get banned for no reason. What is your violation in the email?

I'm just wondering if this is a multi- user issue, just in case there is a flood of this issue, or if this is something that happens a lot and there is a quick resolution. thats why :)

the battle.net account has violated the blizzard end user license agreement. as a result, this battle.net account and all associated game accounts have been permanently closed. as the owner of this account, you are responsible for all actions associated with it. we will only overturn penalties if there is evidence of a compromised account (link omitted by me).

blizzard entertainment reserves the right to terminate access for conduct of this nature, with or without warning, as noted in the blizzard end user license agreement: (link omitted by me)

So, since they havent stated why you got banned, your only way is to do tickets with blizzard, and even that is probably a waste of time. No reason for them to disclose what you did so people doing it can stop as well.

FWIW, per this reddit thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/wow/comments/1856s9n/battlenet_account_closure_violated_the_eula/

You gotta do something really bad for a full on account closure.

The only thing I could even possibly think of is that something on your steam deck is suspicious, you did RMT, you share your account, did chargebacks or just flat out are cheating.

Either way, you did something and got caught. You can try to appeal, but good luck with that one.

there's no "quick resolution" to account termination

in all honesty, I'm almost 40, I play games a couple of hours a night after work to wind down, the only thing I've done on diablo 4 is do the quest line, do a couple of horde events, enjoy killing monsters, I'm on steam deck, I've no interest in doing anything wrong, I paid money for this game, I'm not in the habit to waste it by getting banned.

this has just confirmed I'll never spend another penny with them ever again.

I can't even submit a ticket because it wants me to login in to do so, but when logging in it say's I'm banned. this is just infuriating.

Havok Sep 12, 2024 @ 9:22am
What is going on is..
Do you play wow?
Yes? You did a chargeback and got banned for it
No? Youre account is compromised and they did a chargeback and you got banned for it.

Blizzard never close an account for no reason ,, probably you bought gold ,, which is very bad chooice ,, blizzard have zero tolerance for RMT

Why cant people play the game normal ,, like we all do?

This happened to me when my account was hacked (before authenticator was added) and someone was spamming trade chat in WoW and using it to sell gold.

If your account gets compromised and someone is participating in activity like that your account will be banned, and you'll have to work with them to resolve it. It may take a while.

Do you use an authenticator, or have you dealt with any 3rd party gold/item vendors? Some combination of not having the former and engaging in the latter is a great way to get hacked and your account closed.

I don't play wow, I don't buy gold, I'm a 39 year old man who plays games he buys. I don't cheat. Why is everyone's assumption that I'm a liar? Why would I waste my time profaining my innocence to people I don't even know? Honestly people.

did you try to login through the email or have you tried logging in by manually going to the blizzard website
