If new hero, just play normal till you are level 30 or so (getting legendary drops) then move to hard if you want.

Until next time! *runs away*

It isn't you. It's way harder now with sorcerer fire build. I'm at level 38 now and still struggling with normal difficulty. I don't know what kind of pills they take at Blizzard HQ, but they need to stop taking them. This is NOT the game I bought. That game was bugged, yes, but at the least a bit enjoyable.

my fire build struggled too on hard mode. but once i got the right legendary I started melted things as usual and moved on to expert.

I'm having zero trouble, even with new characters, I think it's a skill issue.

Ye, enemies are walking sponges even on normal, I almost fell asleep while trying to clear a dungeon, i swear i pressed M2 50 times on a trash mob to clear it out. I have tried to get into the new season as Druid and Spiritborn, but none of them seems to do any dmg even on normal, and the only good attacks drain your stamina in 2-3 uses. Resource managment was alway a thing but when the enemies take 1 dmg from your basic attack then it's just tedious.
Gonna try barb and rogue later, hope it goes better, if not, am waiting for the next season because right now the early game is incredibly boring.

This is weird to hear, I've returned to the game after a loooooooong break (game was a mess at launch), and I find it so much easier and faster than before. Everything die so fast during leveling, always selecting the hardest difficulty available. Didn't hit any difficulty wall before unlocking Torment 3, which made me understand I had to stay a bit more in T2 to improve my build.

I guess it depends on classes and builds you're going for, but I don't think the difference would be THAT big. I truly think the game is easier than it ever was, even though Barb and Druid still struggle during leveling.

That said, if you struggle, it means there's some bottleneck in your build, something that doesn't work or isn't enough. Your items, aspects, skill points allocation, something is holding you back.

The problem isn't at mid-end game, it's on early game, I feel like the changed the dmg numbers of the player but "forgot" to adjust the enemy HP and left it like it was in the previous season. What build am I going to have at level 10 or 20? And why should I even have a proper build on Normal difficulty? In previous season I started playing at tier 3 difficulty as soon as I was able to and I still didn't struggle.
The problem is, the game ain't hard, it's just tedious, like I said in my previous comment I almost fell literally asleep during a dungeon, the enemies are incredibly chunky.

Well.. I'm not sure what to tell you, my early game went pretty smoothly with most classes.

I probably wouldn't say the same with Barb and Druid though, they both truly struggle in early game, that's a sad fact.

Beside those two, all other classes have pretty smooth early game and leveling IMO.

Previously you could one shot almost every mob from the start. Now I have to tap my buttons like I'm a piano player to merely kill anyone. Funny enough but in season 5 I don't do that even on 200 lvl of hordes, and only someone like Lilith require some strategy

I just got oneshoted by a boss bubble in DLC story mission. And I mean it..Literally oneshotted, around 50 level Spiritborn, full legendary items (except from chestplate) hard difficulty.
What I find weird is that if I play with Eternal characters, everything works like it used to be, my Hardcore Rogue has the lowest level (38) only a few legendaries and it hits WAY harder than my seasonal spiritborn and druid. Also did they completely remove life on hit stat from items? I have looted a lot of stuff and none had it.

Yes, it's harder. Torment 4 has huge debuffs to armor and resistances that make it difficult to survive without Ancestral GA gear that's at least 4/12 or best case 8/12.

Alright so I may found the answer. I noticed that when I change to normal difficulty from the statue in-game, nothing actually changes, enemies are still chunky and deal good dmg. But when I change to normal from the character selection, it's actually normal, you crush everything in your path. It's still more challenging than previous season, but it's still very easy to level up without worrying of getting oneshot.
