Of course spiritborn is going to be the best right now. They want to entice people to buy the DLC.
If a 'bad' game gets a 'bad' patch... couldn't that mean the game temporarily got... good?
In addition look at the leaderboard...holy crap what kind of lightyears is the Spiritborn away and I don't mind that the Spiritborn is being strong but I do mind that a lot of other classes will never touch 150 Pit because they lack damage referring to the actual content.
I don't know why I should go on playing the game when a goal that has been set by myself is not reachable due to freaking bad quality of class balance.
Now the question is... you want a buff to your class to be "competitive" (in a SP/Coop game), or you want to nerf Spiritborn to get in line with the rest?
In general, people often say that buffs to weak contenders is better than nerfing the strong ones, but seriously, balancing IS a complicated issue, and not as easy an task as some people seem to think.
And I rather have them "overtune" the new class, for "marketing" reasons or whatever, and then try to fit it into general balance "long-term" (next season).
But you mention "self-set goals", my question is, what IS your goal?
I for one like to try stuff out, do my thing, and see how far I can get, and when I reach the end off the road (wall), I either look into meta to see what I can improve on my char, or I start a new one.
And so far, I really enjoy the Spiritborn (full Jaguar skillset with eagle/gorilla spirit) at T2/T3, I think they did a good job with reconfiguring the difficulty.
So while "Meta" build play T4 with ease and clear Pit 150+, I couldn't care less, as long as I have fun playing at the level I am at.
Because you are doing it wrong?
I mean, Spiritborn IS the FotM right now, if you got issues, the problem is not the class I would assume.
I decided not to copy a build this season, and I'm paying for it myself lol. Luckily, I chose the right thing and stumbled on the OP dodge storm feather thing. Thats been carrying me. I do very little damage outside of that. Eventually I'm going to just look up a build, but I haven't been playing much so not there yet. I just finished the campaign the other day finally lol.
It's a brand new class.
OF COURSE they're going to buff it so that the players that paid for DLC get served...
There are plenty of other builds/classes in the S and A tiers across the rating spectrum. Play one of those.
There isn't a class that, with a build of my choice, I couldn't take to T4 and Pit 100. What's your problem?
Every class has a top build for that class or several... and they're very viable builds. Don't get mad just because your Barb Leapsinger build is busted.
Next Season, it'll be some other class or build that is pushing the charts. And then, another and another and another - That's how this all works. It keeps the game from stagnating into "the one build to rule them all."
Uh.... pit 100 can be done with white gear. That isn't some kind of "accomplishment" you are making it out to be, lol.
