sometimes they meeh
sometimes they big
its up to you
but yes - to touch all new stuff each season you will be kinda froced to start new char.
What is carried over are some paragon points and you don't have to run around the map unlocking alter of Lilith's again.
I enjoy seasons to be honest, some people play multiple characters per season but I just stick with one but create a different class and build each season.
Diablo 3 uses basically the same system and still has an active playerbase, so that might be cheaper to get into that first.
There are no wipes compared to games where you lose basically everything and start from 0.
Though you can play it sort of like with wipes by deleting your characters and stash after season ends, though that equals to not ever using eternal, until you run out of character slots. Though you still keep some of the account wide map progress from season to season.
Though you have also hardcore, so you wipe yourself whenever you die, though paragon stays (but only usable when you get back to 60).
This is what The Division 2 was going to have.
Game was going to get seasonal characters, at the end of the season all of our XP would transfer to our main character and we were also going to have the ability to transfer any gear we collected throughout the season to our main as well.
Too add, each season was going to have a "two week intermission" where players could go into the seasonal stuff on our main characters.
Really sucks this idea got cancelled, because I really enjoy the concept of going into new seasons on a fresh character. Real bummer.
from the looks of Diablo player count, the idea of seasonal characters in this game seems to have become better received compared to when the idea was first announced. Wish Ubisoft stuck to their guns like how the devs did with this game.
Does Diablo have the option to play on each season on your main character as well as a seasonal character if desired?
I personally really like the concept of going into each season on a new character.
The big update for The Division 2 was supposed to bring in seasonal characters, but got cancelled from the complaining.
Going into the new season on my main character in The Division 2 just doesn't really have a fun nor engaging experience because I can on day 1 start plowing through the seasonal content instead of having to gradually loot/gather gear as well as level up my character.
Ulitimalty, the fact this game has a seasonal character model got my interest.
No. Once a character enters the Eternal Realm (either by the Season ending, or by being created in Eternal to begin with), they're stuck there permanently. I'm totally fine with that; missing out on a few Seasonal mechanics is well worth being able to play at my own pace.
