D3 was cool. And I liked the comic-ish artstyle. The "it has to be grim and dark and brutal" thing is boring, because everything is grim and dark and brutal. D1&2, D4, PoE 1&2, Grim Dawn, Last Epoch.... *yawns*

PoE2 is what diablo 4 could have been, but Blizzard went the boring, lame and safe route, chose not to innovate anything and then they don't even put proper effort into that.

Also Poe2 now has gold which you can use at traders to buy items and stuff.
Gold also allows you to respec your skill tree.
But gold isn't used for player to player trading, its untradable.
That will still use Orbs. Orbs are obviously also still needed to craft and enhance your equipment. They are still the main focus

No clue about the FoV though.
But you already know about changes like the WASD movement, right?
I recommend watching their 1 hour video from 1 week ago where they go through everything on their youtube channel.

You talk too much about Diablo 4 being bad, and having to ply for this or that.
Yet where i see heavy monetization is in Path of Exile and where i played with a friend, separately not in group, and we finished the chapters in 3 days, now tell me.

Would you finish game that is more than 10 years old in 3 days? A game that is supposed to rival diablo 3.

Come on, the joke tells itself.

Yes i know the game has leagues, hardcore mode, etc but, the main thing it was just 3 days, we had a bet and my friend won.

Not even black ops 6 has that level of lack of content.

Not to mention the animations, which are an abomination along with the character design.

Now listen, Path of Exile is fun, i can give you that of course but, the endgame doesn't count as "campaign".

The story is one thing, and the tryharding is something very different.

Now let's talk about the monetization of Diablo 4 and Path of Exile.
Diablo 4 gives free items every week and often in campaigns from twitch while path of exiles gives you nothing and your character looks like an abomination straight out of a rehab center even in max level armor.

I myself consider myself a fashion victime and i really like to look good in games just as i do in real life.

The cheapest pack in Diablo 4 is 19€ or $. And makes you look at least decent for whatever class you want to. In Path of Exile if you want to look good they give you these "supporter" packs (that has been around for more than a decade of supporting packs) and the cheapest one is 35, and up to 150€.

Sorry, what? 150? Yes i know you can trade those for in game currency but i don't want that kind of business in my game, i don't want chinafarmers in my game either because they spam the chat.

Path of Exiles has basically no cutscenes, while in the other hand Diablo 4 has masterpieces of storytelling and cutscenes that can make a grown man cry.

In all departments, Diablo is far superior to Path of Exile, may it be sound, characters, story, you name it.

Path of Exile was the poor man version of Diablo 3, and it will always be.
There's no shame on that some people can buy things and some don't.

But there is no way you can come here and tell people that has been around longer than you in this world what is good and what is not because if we choose to play Diablo 4 is because we have been since Diablo 1 playing the game when you were not even a project.

Path of exile is for tryhards and broke people.
Diablo 4 is for authentic gamers that are old enough to tell you what happened with Maradona in the world cup of 1986 at the finals.

This IS the saddest ♥♥♥♥ ever in the history of the Diablo franchise, but according to you its superior in everyway to any other arpg.

Calling out GGG greedy is hilarious, Blizzard is fking infamous for milking players and doing insane cash grabs while charging full priced games WITH microtranstions up the yahoo, meanwhile PoE is F2P you can easily finish the campaign without spending 1 cent who says otherwise never played the game, their ONLY source of revenue are the MTX and yet they are putting out better content then d4 ever could.

You want to know why we don't mind paying 400$+ into PoE which are optional? Because we TRUST GGG and know they are putting their heart and soul into their games, you can feel enthusiasm of their devs speaking about their game, can you say the same about your devs though? No you cannot, because they have no clue what their doing to begin with.

With a few exceptions like Final Fantasy that tries to reinvent itself with every game, a mainline game in any franchise should comply with the artistic codes its first entry or first few entries set, in my opinion. D3 looks like WoW at times, it should look like Diablo.

Also, Last Epoch ? What I've played of it looked like Titan Quest.

I agree. The cartoonish artstyle of Diablo III, while not bad looking at all, doesn't fit the Diablo theme.

Doesn't prevent me from enjoying it for what it is though. But I'm glad Diablo IV went back to it's roots. Artstyle-wise anyways.

Simplifying PoE as being trash is no better than PoE fanboys saying Diablo IV is "hot garbage", or whatever, instead of laying-out the particular reasons why they dislike the game in a constructive way.

The reasons I dislike PoE are mainly the Orb-based economy with traders, the gear looking like crap even with Legendary/Unique items to entice you to buy cosmetics, and the locked zoomed-in FoV which is too close.

I know now traders use Gold in PoE 2, so there's at least that. As for the rest, it remains to be seen.

If it's the same as in PoE, it'll be an hard pass for me.
