Because these blizzard fanboys gobble up any trash they get served, just because a game has a blizzard name on it and they have nostalgia for it
D4 > D1 > D3 > D2
D4 is my dream come true from the times of OG Diablo. D1 was a revolution. D3 was fun. D2 visuals were too ugly to take it seriously
This is the reason why no one is taking you seriously
Same here. Except maybe D2 = D1 > D4 > D3 instead. I prefer the darker, more Gothic feel of the original Diablo, And it got me hooked more than the sequel did at the time.
I still play it to this day with the HD mod. The Hellfire expansion just didn't bring refinement to the game as Lord of Destruction did to Diablo II though.
It's an half-baked expansion.
Diablo III is what I'm currently playing these days as a probably final come back to it. Vessel of Hatred just doesn't look interesting to me, and I needed a break from Diablo IV anyways.
I kinda prefer Diablo III's Endgame too (except for the boring Paragon system). The cartoonish style doesn't fit Diablo, but it's still somewhat of a eyecandy at high resolutions.
"real gamer" LOL
Is it like the "real man" stereotype shaming ♥♥♥♥, except in lamer form?
Nope.
Fifa or sports games in general are highly popular and make insane amounts of money, yet the people playing those games are no real gamers.
Same story for D4 players
Those playing sports' games are more "real men" than "real gamers" I guess. It's just the "real" word that doesn't make much sense to me.
I get that what you mean here by "real" is; playing a wide spectrum of video games on a regular basis as a hobby, instead of just gaming from time to time.
Hardcore vs casual. But even the "hardcore" wording I find kinda silly. Casual is fitting though. Devoted I think is a more accurate word.
Devoted gamer.
People can use whatever words they wanna use. But "real" and "hardcore" just sound silly to me.
When a game is too hard or complicated, I often move on to the next. But I play a wide range of videos games from all genres, sports included. So I'm not hyper casual either.
I think you're right on the mark with this assumption.
As for Path of Exile, I played it back then, but I got fed-up with the locked zoomed-in FoV which is too close to me, especially since I favour ranged classes in ARPGs. This can only be "fixed" by having an ultra-wide monitor, which I don't.
The orb-based economy isn't really my cup of tea either. The constant skill-tree reset was annoying too. On the other hand, it gave a free reset each time so, had mixed feelings about this.
Do you know if Path of Exile 2 will still have a super-close FoV, and an Orb-based economy as well? I don't watch gaming streams, so I'm not up to date with this stuff.
I would certainly be interested in playing it if those things have changed.
To be fair i don't care too much about it either.
I am personally just seriously pissed off at what they have done to the diablo franchise.
And what pisses me off even more are people defending this
PoE2 is what diablo 4 could have been, but Blizzard went the boring, lame and safe route, chose not to innovate anything and then they don't even put proper effort into that.
Also Poe2 now has gold which you can use at traders to buy items and stuff.
Gold also allows you to respec your skill tree.
But gold isn't used for player to player trading, its untradable.
That will still use Orbs. Orbs are obviously also still needed to craft and enhance your equipment. They are still the main focus
No clue about the FoV though.
But you already know about changes like the WASD movement, right?
I recommend watching their 1 hour video from 1 week ago where they go through everything on their youtube channel.
