Play Diablo 1 and then close that chapter in your life.

Someone(s) had to improve shared stash tab quantity. Critically, Diablo IV demanded 200 shared stash tab quantity, inevitably.

D4 is pretty stylish and exciting but D2 didn't have any memory leaks

Hahaha, how original... oh wait...

:steamfacepalm:

Seriously, cannot wait for Dec6...

Hopefully this pathetic trollshow on the forum will stop, and everyone simply plays and enjoys their game...

Couldn't feel more embarassed as a PoE fan myself (as well as Diablo... you know... not mutually exclusive...) seeing how part of the community behave, but guess it's a "general trend" nowadays.... why just stick to what you like, if you can instead attack others for liking something different?

It wont stop, you will have people mention player counts for at a few months, then when the player counts stabilize and even out they will go back to flame wars of which is better. I play both personally.

I would bet my house and all my saving that there will not be a single week that has more players actively on D4 than PoE2.

If we compare the games simply today as-is, you are about right, but if I rate them taking nostalgia and greatness at release into account, I would say D2 > D1 > D4 > D3

D1 set the whole theme and feel of the series, and revolutionized gave birth to the genre (so much for xxx-like), but D2 added so much to it and got a far wider audience that it even succeded the first. Then D3 came, and even if we put aside all the controversy about RMAH and initial difficulty design based around that, the change in style and atmosphere just had it fall flat, combined with no real innovations to the formula but simplifying it even (on the surface).
One reason PoE could get into the spot by appealing to the grim-dark, realistic atmosphere of D1/2 while actually adding revolutionary mechanics to the formula (like the skill board, skillgems and their combination, goldless economy based on materials and vendor recipes).
Now, D4 returns to the origins in regards of atmosphere, and the skills/mechanics in general became more sophisticated, still not revolutionary,

While in some aspects, D4 falls still short compared to the earlier games and esp. D2, the fact that it brings the true feel/atmosphere back, coupled with superb animation/world/sound design, while presenting a flawed but rather solid gameplay (coupled with constant improvements), it makes it the top pick for anyone getting into the series right now.

If D3 was playable at launch it would be higher than D4.
