Buying again?
So I have the game and the expansion through Blizzard. But I was looking into playing it on the go via my Steam Deck. Yeah I know I can do the backdoor install of it. But having it auto update through Steam instead of using the launcher would be cool. Anyway to the point at hand. If I bought it on Steam would I have access to the Expansion as it's already attached to my Battle.net account?

Valve will not let you play it on Steam because they didn't get the 30% of the original sale, as it was through Battlenet.

Steam get's paid or you don't play.

Thank you for your simple response. Bummer but understandable. I had hoped i'd get access to the expansion after buying the base game here on Steam. As buying the base game for FF14 on Steam but having the expansions through their website gave me access to everything here.

I think that's because unlike Square, Blizzard and Steam are platform competitors to get more customers.

I'll be honest, I double dipped on Diablo IV to see if it would run better in Linux directly through Steam instead of running the Battle.net Launcher through Steam, and performance actually was better.

Anyway, to answer the OP's question, no, Blizzard does not give you a free Steam key when you buy through Battle.net, so if you want Diablo IV on your Steam Deck, you will either need to side load the Battle.net Launcher, or buy it directly from Steam.

So the last part of my post stated if I bought the game on Steam would I get access to the Expansion I bought on Battle.net I didn't expect a free copy of the base game.
Let me clarify: Battle.net purchases do not transfer to Steam.
