Seems the 566.14 drivers are working fine at the moment.
New:
Going beyond 136 minutes at the moment.

Old:
(summary, 565.90 and 566.03 drivers are broken for d4, 561.09 drivers and prolly older don't have the problem)

Nice 191 minute / 3h session without crashing with an older nvidia gpu driver.

Seems the last 2 newest nvidia drivers are borked with diablo 4.

What I'm using at the moment.
Driver Version:561.09
Release Date:Wed Sep 11, 2024
(Warning when upgrading or downgrading gpu drivers, in all your games that are shader heavy, will have to redo their shaders, so expect some stuttering for a little while, depends if the game uses shader generation when the game starts or on the go)

RTX 4070 12GB, i7 14700k, 48GB ram, 20GB page file (dxdiag shows 9-11GB in use)
At the moment graphics settings, dlc ultra textures, max graphics, rt shadows low, rt reflections high, rt particles on. 60fps limit, dlss quality, 1080p. Would use framegen with 120fps limit, but eh it's still disabled.

When the season started, while before downgrading the driver, it constantly crashed at specific session lengths, basically like living in china.

Did not matter to me if I used max graphics settings or minimum, or if I used dlss or fsr. Always used 1080p. RT was used for max settings. Did not matter if I had installed/used ultra texture dlc, below ultra texture setting it's not used anyway, just a waste of space if anyone is using low to high textures while texture dlc is installed.
With max settings ram usage sits around 20-21 GB, and vram usage sits around 10GB, basically didn't change from start to finish, so there wasn't any memory leak in terms of ram or vram growing all the time, if you don't close the error report message you can still see how much is in use, as the game is running, just frozen.

Below drivers that have a crashing bug after 1.5 or 2 hour game session, for me 1.5h was with 90+ fps limit, and 2 hour sessions were with 30 or 60 fps limit.

This one introduced the crashing bug, plus it had another bug with digital vibrance being disabled every system restart, among some other new bugs and fixes.
Driver Version:565.90
Release Date:Tue Oct 01, 2024

This is the latest at the moment, it still has the crashing bug, but it fixed the digital vibrance being reset every system restart among some other new bugs and fixes.
Driver Version:566.03
Release Date:Tue Oct 22, 2024

Ya ive never had a crash with my GeForce gtx 1660 SUPER. I do always tend to play games on low graphics settings though. I haven't downloaded any updates in a while either, so maybe that helped considering what you just said. Not sure what version I'm on right now.

Hello, i have nvidia 970. This last week i play without a crash, finally im very happy ^^

There was a driver update just today, but I don't dare to test it yet. They prolly weren't even aware that their 565.90 and 566.03 messed up d4.

I doubt the 566.14 is any different, I hope it's different, but eh.

The thing with the 565.90 and 566.03, it didn't matter if I had enough vram and ram, and using minimum graphics settings, the result was always the same as using max settings. Besides only the fps limit somehow making a difference.

If you aren't using geforce experience or nvidia app, you can check the driver version in nvidia control panel, help, system info, first line; driver version.

i can confirm that going back to an older gpu driver helps. I had "fenris errors" every 20-90minutes and going back to 561 fixed that issue. I have this error now only 1x like every 5h-10hours.

Dunno what those errors are, I never got an error message. Only time I got a memory message was when I had uninstalled the ultra texture dlc, but it was just saying reduce graphics settings lel, which is a good thing, but useless in this situation, otherwise it was just make a report without any errors.

Anyway how much vram and ram do you have?

32GB ram and 4080 super (16GB vram)

Hmm, how much page file do you have? Min amount.

If you can afford to, upgrade. My old 4070 would stutter from the load at times. 4090, smooth as butter.

Irrelevant. Nobody was talking about stutters.
Go donate your 4090 or 2-3k eur to someone and go back to using 4070 which is 700 eur, it's smooth as butter for me. I could make 2-3 pcs that have rtx 4070 with 1 rtx 4090 price. Waste of money, unless you're so rich that money has no value to you.
I would be an idiot if I would waste that much money on it, rtx 4070 was already borderline lel in terms of a price, ps5 pro would've been a better deal even, albeit game prices are eh on it, and you can't do much on it, besides game without doing anything else.

Also blocked. I don't need pointless comments, basically saying to a homeless person, "go buy yourself a house, then you're not homeless".

Blocked because he has a cheap card.

I think all cards are fine. If you read patch notes :
Nov 11 (only 3 days ago) build 59495 -Nvidia DLSS frame generation re-enabled"

They are still working on graphics card performance by turning things on and off.

Maybe the best bet is to set everything as default settings in nvidia control panel, just change the resolution for performance. When testing Diablo it is low chance that the developers are using the same custom setting.

Do you even read? Or just say whatever you want.
Nothing to do with frame generation as it was disabled from the server side in october 18th when the expansion/s6 started, and hasn't been enabled since, also nothing to do with graphics settings.

Drivers 565.90 and 566.03 cause a timed crash, regardless what graphics settings you use, minimum or maximum, while having enough vram and ram.
While using 561.09 drivers the crashes stop, that is if you don't have any other issues.*

I can now just run the game as long as I want regardless what graphics settings I use.
If you'd read the topic, I wouldn't have to repeat myself every single time someone says something like they didn't read a single word.

Unsubbed, too many pointless comments appearing in a row, who don't care to even understand what the topic is about.

Also the last 3 blocked, 2 of 'em already before for something else. Irene was okay before, but this time lel, bye, you disappoint me.

I believe the latest driver should be the best for the hardware and we should use it.

(edit : removed other thoughts that are off-topic)
