If you are playing on an older OLED turn off HDR and move the HUD location every week or two.
I have had an LGCX 48 since they first drop around the time the 3090 dropped. I have never had any burn in but Diablo 4 is the game that finally caused it. I didn't notice it until I used my screen for work and the rotating wallpaper windows has happened to be Neon green and then I could see it clear as day.

I have all the stuff in the TV turned on to reduce the chance of burn in but the Neon green buffs in HDR seem to be what caused it. They are stuck on my screen forever. It is not a huge deal because it can only be seen if something neon green is in that area but I just wanted to give people a heads up just in case. I have heard the new LGs don't have this issue but I had to give the heads up. I gave on this thing in 4k HDR about 28 hours a week for the last 4 years and those Neon buffs are the only thing that has done this in all this time. And I have only been playing D4 since the last two weeks of the last season. :steamsad:

Is this a PSA?
OLED is currently the only TV screen technology on the market in which the pixels light up individually on their own. All other displays require a light source in the background, usually an LED backlight.
So playing games with OLED is probably still a problem, if static image elements are longer present, like a HUD. That is a useful info, thanks.

Happy to help. I have played lots of other games for lots of hours over the last 4 years on this screen. Lots of hud elements have stayed in the same place and never caused an issue. It is only the Neon green buffs in this game that have ever caused this issue. Other games you should be fine.
Can you fix this at least with on-board tools? A kind of "pixel-refresher" to reactivate stressed pixels?

Nope. I have all of that turned on. I have the screen set to dim when static. I have pixel refresh set to turn on any time I turn off the TV. It's this game with HDR on and it is the neon green from the buffs that cause it. Everything else on the screen is fine and burn free and those are all elements that are on screen in the same spots each time I play. There is something about the Neon green in the buff section that burns in really good. The good news is that It is not noticeable when I am playing anything or watching anything. You can only see if if I have a full Neon green wallpaper up then you can see it in dark black burned in. But any other color and you cant see anything.

Sometimes I think blizzard does this stuff on purpose. They don't know how to make a game but they do know how to make their customers hate them.
