Item upgrading?

i remember i could upgrade an set of gear weapons or armor to maximum of 4/4 upgrades and yellow dots will appear under the gear to show its upgrade level, this was from the blacksmit and i can't find that tab anymore, how do i upgrade?

it changes and have 12 levels now ,, you need to go to endgame for that

im already level 62 so im not new, but where do i access the pit? and by the way do i need its access so i can upgrade??

I recommend you do some googling and read up on masterworking. it replaced the old upgrade system.

You need to beat a tier 45 Nightmare Dungeon (or maybe it was 46, don't remember) to unlock Pit.
