Does my activity display in battlenet?

If I am playing through steam and thus just using a connected account, do people on battlenet see me as online and in game? I am a bit of an anxious neurotic and at random times i get weirdly uncomfortable about privacy. When playing through steam I don't see any "appear offline" options outside of the steam client and not sure if that shows up elsewhere.

If you have friends on Bnet, they will see you playing D4 in their socials list etc.
