Does Diablo 4 have a good story?

Some reviews say Diablo 4 has a good story, and some don’t. I haven’t played it, but I like a game with a good story, so what do you guys think about its story? Thank you.

Would you say a cliffhanger is a good story?

Nothing is satisfying. At the end of the story, nothing gets solved. You still don't know who you are and why you're here. Humans are in disarray due to the lost of the church and its leader. The mommy demon is dead, but she'll come back. Big bad demons never die in this game, but angels die like flies. One of your companion left you to go who the hell knows where (probably Kurast). The old man is still grumpy. The itemization still sucks.

It's as if nothing happened just like before you started playing. Your life means nothing. You have zero purpose.

Its a b-. A for effort, actual narrative and the telling of it is low mid.

Its about a bioware story, and maybe 36% of a cdpr or rockstar story.

EDIT: Also the use of gore is cheap. As in primary school creative writing done by adults cheap. Could have been an indie steam game. Wouldn't surprise me though if there's something else that explains it, maybe they needed it so that their corporate overlords wouldn't insist on lgbtq content like the rest of blizzard, if that's its function well played.

EDIT2: Probably why i say what i say, do you like the diablo fictional universe? The story from the prior games? The books? You get none of it here, its all disconnected, barely a comic.

i think angels get revived in heaven as well but the one in this game was exiled so he prob can't

I agree with the rest of what you said but how is it not connected? Lilith and Inarius are literally the creators of Sanctuary and mephisto is one of the prime evils and they're all in this game
