Can't play dungeons with friends

So I bought the game and I'm trying to play with my friends but they can never enter the places I'm entering, we can only play together outside and it kinda ruins the fun. What have we not figured out..?

i play the game from steam like you ,, and i play with friends from Battle net .. no problem at all .. check crossplay settings and your friends have also

Thanks for the reply! We're all playing on Steam with a pc, I checked network options everything seems to be enabled, we're playing the same world tier. We can quest just fine in the outside world but whenever I enter a place my friends can't enter. What a strange problem and I can't seem to find any info like it was an only us problem...

that is weird. When you join a party, it should sync your progress to whatever the party leader has so unlocked dungeons should not be a problem. What do you mean they cant enter?

Like there's nothing to click, normally you hover and it kinda illuminates and the name of the place appears then you can left click Interact to enter the place. But for both my party members the option to interact is not there they tell me.

I was thinking maybe they don't have the specific quest I'm doing to enter but that would be a stupid mechanic and I'm guessing it's not that, they should be able to enter everywhere with me right?

Are you in the same Party? Do you see icons representing them on the screen? Do you see them in your party listed in the Social tab?

If you are in a party with them, you will be in the same world-tier and server as the party-lead. (Whoever invited everyone)

Yes, they appear as yellow and blue diamond shape on the map, I can see them in the party tab, I also have them as friends in the game.

Try reforming the party. Have a different player do all the invites for everyone in the party. Make sure everyone gets the Party Join dialogue box that informs them they're joining a party and the party leader's progression/etc. Have everyone go into the same town so you can actually see their character.

I had some issues with this, now and then, on XBox and it seemed to be something to do with how Microsoft's playerID and/or Blizz's account servers were working. It could also have been due to shards/travel/load/etc... /shrug There were times when an invite did not work or did not seem to actually go through, despite confirmations it had been sent.

One solve was to relog. The other was to have someone else do the invites. The issue was not consistent enough to derive a foolproof method or make determinations past that.

It's likely the game thought you were in the party, but the players did not make the transfer to the right host. (Some cross-server problem, but the account/player stuff worked.)

If the issue persists you should make a formal ticket or check Blizz Tech Support forums.
