New character every season - Why this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥?
I don't understand why I need to create a new damn character every season (3 months). What the hell is wrong in keeping just one character for all seasons and add the extra features like an update? Why do I need to start from ZERO every time? I know there are 2 types of characters and seasons can be skipped (are optional) but this is stupid and non sense.
And I also know Diablo always worked like this but this doesn't make it more normal and genious. I really like Diablo series but starting from 0 every time makes my desire to play go deep.

They should sell you a level 100 boost every season.

No, they should make things less complicated.

No, they should make it harder for every casual gamer.

It's how they did it in D2 and 3, with ladders and seasons. There wasn't really any new story or content beyond items added through seasons in those games though, so it didn't seem as weird to start new characters for them.
I think it's old design D4 should probably shed at this point.
The purpose of a season is to reset economy, otherwise things just get progressively cheaper to a point where nothing is worth anything, or at least it was the idea back in Diablo 2.

Have you never played an Arpg before? Did you also go into BG3 forums and get upset it was turn based?

Honestly how do you get into a game like Diablo, or POE, etc etc, and questions season gameplay.

I mean, the previous BG games weren't turn based, so I don't think that analogy works.
But otherwise, yeah, I'm surprised there's this much outrage over starting new characters for seasonal activities, since that's been how Diablo has worked for a long time now. Not that I'd mind if Blizzard re-throught that requirement for seasons. It feels stranger with seasons bringing actual content and story now.
