Doesn't "require" per se but it's nice to have. If you can look past the weird hitching going between zones it'll probably run just fine on a standard 7200rpm hard drive.

Not necessarily, runs fine on my Steam Deck on ~100MB/s sdcard. Just untick high res textures when installing.

I play it from HDD no problem. 40 seconds till character selection, 20 seconds to load into the world.

At this point I dunno why you wouldn’t have an SSSD. I’ve had an SSD over 10 years and haven’t had a hard drive in probably just as long. Flash storage prices have dropped big time.
