Steam Deck: Support Offline mode
Please add some form of offline support for the game, especially for Steam Deckers.

Tony Hawk Skater was released with always-online which is just massively dumb. Don't do the same requirement for the other Acti-Blizz games that are coming to Steam. At least support some kind of offline mode.

I never played the game, so I take it there's no separate multiplayer and singleplayer mode?

Just wait for the private server, if Blizzard doesn't want to serve the market someone else will.

Diablo 3 is playable offline, why not make Diablo 4 playable offline too? Since its release on Steam and its accessibility on Steam Deck, it would be perfectly relevant. At least the Eternal Realm characters.

D3 was also online only and the game was built from the ground up to be online only.

It's not going to change unfortunately.

D3 is offline on console + local co-op, and the moment they did so cheaters galore everywhere, and it did even mess up next gen saves because of save transfer.
Also D3 on console is developed and maintained by an entirely separate dev team. D3 pc and console have pretty different ways of doing things, and entirely separate from each other.
The only good part I liked about D3 on console was the ps3 variant loot system which was smart loot 1.5, it was very random, but because being smart loot you got more relevant stats towards your class, had way more interesting and much more powerful stat combinations, instead of 4 main stats and 2 secondary with few exceptions. Next gen variant went into the newer model, ps3 version is still as it was lvl 60 max only, but lel the console can't really handle that game well, sometimes the audio lags almost by 1 minute behind.

D4 is always online, server side saves only, plus cross-save/cross platform like Diablo Immortal, no cheaters.

I literally don't care, it had offline just like every other version and game should have, it's anti-consumer ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ otherwise.

No kidding, but this is a steam forum about PC games and console features aren't relevant to the conversation.

They are, they can take their D3 Console dev them and have them patch the PC version if the so called PC developers are the problem and not Blizzard being one of the most anti-consumer companies out there.

No, consoles are not relevant here.

They don't need to move teams around to change things; the PC team is more than capable of making offline games.

This is not a development decision, it's a business decision plain and simple.

You'll get no argument from me calling them anti-consumer, but as I've said before Blizzard moved to online only GaaS titles a decade ago; D3 having native controller support and offline mode were concessions made at the time because moving live services to consoles wasn't a commonly done thing yet.

I'm not defending the practice, I'm just telling you the truth that it *will* not happen. This choice was made a very long time ago and the game's foundation is built around it.

It's much harder to sell cash shop items and battle passes when people play offline, which also makes it easier to use the game as a test bed for cheats which cost them money to deal with.

But calling a AAA developer anti-consumer in modern context is fairly redundant... I can't think of a single one that would give up a nickel to be more consumer friendly.

It's online game, like mmo, you join the server to play so it makes sense that you cannot play it offline.

and so have I that I will not pay for a game that does not work offline.
