Its bad, they gutted classes in patch 1.1 and slowly trying to fix what they killed very poorly. Season content is a joke, dull and boring. There is virtually no end game. Was let down by Diablo 4 massively, as you would not think they could kill one of their premium titles of Activision Blizzards life, but they sure did.

I bought it and played it for two weeks and it really is the most unpleasant diablo-like I ever played. From what I remember the endgame consists of farming timed events in the open world, you can't do boss runs like in the older ones. Also, the dungeons will always be a pain in the ass because anytime you can get one shotted. None of the gear feels satisfying, there's really only one meta that really works, the rest are just meh. No freedom to build your own metas.

So to the guy saying bad criticism = biased people, parroting

It's just not fun also the campaing ends and you're like "what that's it?!

Lack of end-game. Build diversity is non-existent with everyone running the same exact builds, and instead of fixing bad skills Blizzard just continues to nerf stuff. Seasonal update was mediocre and didn't add much. Just very mismanaged. Team seems honest and I want to give them a chance. Game just needs time to find its footing.

From what i can gather, Diablo 4 is just Diablo 3, but much more "Diablo 3", as in, from Diablo 2 to 3 they simplified and streamlined a lot of the features that made Diablo 2 so popular, and in 4 they just over did that. It doesnt helps that people that have played since its launch have commented how the game becomes less fun to play the longer you do, with Blizzard making the game more grindy, nerfing all the active metas, making a dull end-game and blocking everything else behind a paywall.

And dont get me started on that paywall, i have read a lot of stories about how predatory the game design is, from its UI's that are made so that you make purchases by mistake to how invasive those self advertisements are.

If you look at the "average" IQ closely - you'll find out that 75% of population is below 100iq ("coincidentally" middle class + rich people = 25% in most countries).

That's why most folks cannot differ good from bad, good games are getting bad reviews/hype - and that's why democracy and populism are prevailing over meritocracy.

I am a diehard Diablo fan. I played all 3 prior releases, all of the DLC content, hundreds to thousands of hours across the IP.

Played Diablo 4 for about a week and a half... bored...

It went from the action RPG, dungeon crawler, to what amounts to a reskin of what has already come out like New World, Lost Ark, Elden Ring, whatever.

The OG Blizzard is dead.

For me D4 was Blizzard's last attempt to winning me back. They failed.

I hope some find value in the game. But if you want my opinion, it's not worth the AAA price. Please wait until you get it at discount. The only reason they're bringing it to Steam is to try to boost player population on the servers.

A lot of the fans of the series got into it because of Diablo 2 and every game after that one has been a massive disappointment for them. Each iteration of the game falls farther and farther away from the roots of the franchise and each one falls deeper and deeper into the hell of terrible predatory monetization. Bliizzard has been an empty husk of its former self for basically decades at this point and its shows with their absolutely inept business and creative choices. From the classic "do you guys not have phones?" to the atrocious state of the Overwatch """sequel."""

There is a reason their most critically acclaimed and well respected releases recently have all be remakes or rereleases of older titles. Classic wow and the D2 remaster. Everything else has been butterfingered so bad it was either mediocre or arguably a disaster.
