Question About Crossplatform Play

If I disable crossplatform play, will I still be able to play with other PC players on Battlenet not steam? Main reason I ask is because I have more lag issues with crossplatform enabled, but I'd still like to play with other PC players.

you still login with a battle.net account on the Steam version, cross-platform means other platforms, not other software used to launch the game.

Okay, I assumed you have to login in with a bnet account even on console, but either way it sounds like turning cross platform play off won't affect playing with other pc players then.

Blizzard has cross-plat disabled already because there were issues, so even without ticking that box - there is currently no cross-play going on. (I believe)
