Putting asides its mountain of issues.
Their '25% sale' makes it barely cheaper than any other Standard priced Triple A game. I know companies are all starting to try and push for higher prices by large margins. But this one isn't even worth it at $60. Not to mention the money you are likely to spend on Ingame Purchases...
Wait till at *Least* A 50%. Maybe even a 75%. Shouldn't take too long. The game is failing to hold player attention and they'll get desperate for an influx.
But if you were really into ARPGs, you already played this game for a week or two during pre-season, and a week or two during S1.
If you aren't really into ARPGs, this game is going to get even more boring more quickly than the other top-tier ARPGs. I would suggest literally any of those over this one.
There's enough to do in the game for a first-time player and you can completely skip the battle passes or micro-transactions (they appear to be cosmetic so far).
If there are other ARPGs that you haven't yet tried such as Path of Exile or Grim Dawn, consider trying those as well. The former for free, the latter having a base game sale fairly often.
Honestly the game itself is fine up to a point. Endgame is terrible. it's may not seem like it at first. As for blizzard as company. They went from incompetent to worse. I wouldn't trust any decision they make. if You just want to play the game for the sake of fun and that it. then it's good. but if you want more. to be involve with the community. Care for it's development and growth, Stay away. Blizzard has truly hit rock-bottom. I have play from earlier release. I stick by lot of it and realize, how bad of a relationship it is and walk away and honestly. i want nothing to do with blizzard anymore. Blizzard has lose any value and meaning. I'm not writing this in anger. i genuinely think there's is nothing left to say,
I'll add a bit of nuance. I think actually that if you've never played a Diablo game before then there's a much higher chance you'll find this worth it. As a game, it's technically solid. I think though if you've played and enjoyed Diablo games before, then this becomes very likely to disappoint you because you will have certain expectations for a new installment which this game does not live up to.
If you think this description is of a game you'd like to (pay to) play, go ahead. If you don't, wait for Season 3 and ask again. By my standards, right now in its current state the game is not worth your money or your time.
If you want a good vid to watch about "why" a lot of people are pointing this out, YouTuber Cascenn very nicely compares and contrasts D4 with similar games of the genre:

To get a professional perspective, consider what Path of Exile producer/developer, Chris Wilson had to say about Diablo Immortal:

there are comparable games in the genre that would be a better investment of your money and time. path of exile is free. try that out. there's also grim dawn and V rising
