Well the multiplayer part is really not there .. yes you can team up with friends BUT the game scales for each player ... so a level 100 can play with a level 5 and do the same thing they just * see * the same mob levels as they are themself... if that make sense.
for world bosses well there is other people around that do stuff but there is 0 teamwork needed and even worst ( or better depending on your way of play ) there is no real way to do teamwork.
Main issue for me with endgame is they way D4 do loot, i have a hard time to put word on it really but if you did play D2 and you find a Stone of Jordan, you would/will go ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I JUST GOT SoJ !
that feeling you will never get in D4 you can find a * perfect stats stick * and put whatever legenday power you want on it as you found and extracted that power several times doing the play till that point.
the thrill of the loot is just not there .. and for me that matters.
Now... Because Blizzard is such a greedy company I would not recommend you buy it for more than 20 euro. The monetization in the game is disgusting and it has a big impact on the games flavor.
In Diablo 1-3 you could find cool looking loot and cosmetics. Like in real games.
Now you get the blandest cosmetics and are expected to buy anything that looks decent.
So not only do they want you to buy the game at full AAA price. They then expect you to pay for battle passes, mounts, armors etc.
This kind of monetization needs to die so stay away from Diablo.
The other issue I had with the campaign was how much it breaks up the flow of just playing. Talking to NPCs is extremely tedious because control of your character is removed in order to have a cinematic zoom in on your character and an NPC as they just stare at one another and talk. Its so boring to watch, and after a few hours I found myself skipping all of the cutscenes.
Like the best I could say about it was that there was a really great CGI cutscene pay off near the very end.
for a min 50% discount its okish
endgame loop is realy bad, skill tree is very limited, loot is bad, itemisation is realy bad (inventar simulator) there is not rly much content after the campagne.
and the seasons are boring.
Diablo 3 Story was extremely much better than the one of this 4th episode so, get it only if you're a great fan of Diablo games.
Depends how much you like Diablo lore. Compared to previous installments, the story in this one is noticeably better. Not that it was a high bar (in my opinion it was very low).
If you're not familiar with the background at all, I guess it can be ok. Again, not that this genre provides games with good stories (it's usually an excuse for the endgame), so the bar is not high to begin with.
End game gets stale way too quickly.
