steam can't just "create" that account for you, there are laws against that
As I said, it's between steam and blizzard. Steam has done authentication when people login to steam. Steam can do authentication for players to Blizzard. How do they do that? They can work it out.
What are you talking about? There's no real reason why blizzard can't support steam authentication like the vast majority of other games out there. Hell, final fantasy 14 - a real MMO rather than an ARPG with a live service layer grafted on - supports steam authentication despite the "laws you've made up."
"All editions of the game require user registration. All editions of the game other than the Free Trial require an active paid subscription to play."
Battle.net supports authentication via Facebook and Google, what's different about steam?
It does but once you've created it, you never need to login again because steamauth takes care of it for you.
what you're asking for is already how it works, it still requires the respective third account regardless
True. You just link your bnet account to steam once and it remembers you for all Blizzard games
Exactly. Plenty of other games implement this and games that do support it and change their mind (payday 3) rightly get beaten on by the community.
