just checked b.net version - works like a charm, so it seems that only steam players got bad patch ....again

Yeah took a while to write in the disk, all my system was like at 20% performance

Well this always happened back then in early diablo 3 days, they probably fixing everything up as we speak, hope they dont mess with anything vital so the game can start.
