But leveling most anything else on World Tier 1 will be super easy. And boring. WT2 requires some attention while you’re leveling to 50 and makes D4 an actual game. So, if your friend wants to actually PLAY, you probably will have to as well.
So far dual-Core rogue and necro are pretty easy to level up.
I was actually thinking of a pacifist build where I just spam both curses and let my minions do the work...maybe use army of the dead with minions aspects too
Seriously don't pull the "This game is HARD!" card. People know what difficulty they are willing to play on and it may not be yours. From the sounds of it this person isn't interested in the game all that much and just wants a coast character/build to use for as far as it will take them. Who cares. They can play that way if they wish, why you care in any regard is the more interesting question.
Necro is a glass cannon though so you still might need to be half-awake sometimes and maybe chug a quick potion every now and then if you get hit by one of them elemental damage spikes but this happens rarely so 90% of the time you can rely on minions and vile miasma.
Make sure to equip the stuff that gives you extra minions. My necro has 6 warriors, 5 mages and 1 Golem but you can push that even further by putting the right aspect on an amulet.
The OP wants to watch Netflix or whatever on the side so a Rogue relying on mobility is much too high maintenance because you need to pay attention to where you actually move.
This mobility thing requires effort. He wants the *least* effort.
Honestly, Necro is perfect for lazy players if you just want to stand there and watch stuff die around you. You just have to spam 'corpse explosion' (vile miasma) in the general direction of the enemies and the game is almost on autopilot.
