Legacy: Steel & Sorcery

Legacy: Steel & Sorcery

To the people that are scared to play full-loot PvP... come here, your friend Power Sword is gonna educate your ass
Alright, so the sheer amount of people for whom the full-loot nature of the pvp in this game is a deal-breaker... here's a bit of insight from a fanatic that doesn't consider a game to be a game unless it's full loot full pvp in all zones.

When someone whines about how they would buy but won't since they don't want to get ganked and lose their loot, I usually respond with "git gud" or "grow balls". Yet the issue is still there, many people feel this way and are reluctant to grow any balls.

But here is the thing.
It is important to realize that games with full loot are balanced in such a way that items are easy to lose, but also relatively easy to acquire. Which means that with a little bit of effort (which more often than not may include combat excellence and/or stealth skills) will let you, when you have enough game knowledge, to run good kits all the time and sometimes top-tier kits.

I myself am not very good at PvP, i'd say slightly below mediocre. But in Tarkov, where you aren't given a free kit upon death, my inventory was always full to bursting. Why? I knew where and what to loot, I was stealthy when I needed to, I did my quests, and was able to run okay kits all the time.
Now there are people who are even better at the game and who can afford top tier equipment on the regular - I am not one of them, and as long as top tier equipment doesn't sway the balance in their favor too much, I'm ok with that.

Take Legacy, for example. The devs have stated that they're looking to balance skill and gear, so a noob in blues doesn't stomp someone in whites - or at least not completely. That's a good start.

Upon dying you get a full kit of low-tier equipment (sometimes with class consumes and sometimes without, no idea how this is regulated). Buy 6 bandages and 3-6 small HP pots and you have a minimal kit for the price of, like, 120 gold or something. This kit is enough to farm mobs and to win pvp fights. So, in a sense, you are already geared.

And if you get killed and lose your bag... so what? Statistically, unless you are absolutely horrible, you will extract more times than you die. Get better, and you'll extract even more often.

And if you think about it a bit, I believe you will agree that progressing and upgrading your lodge is way more exciting when you know your resources were hard-earned.
Progressing without any danger or challenge in a PvE mode would simply be boring.

This small rant, of course, won't sway PvE players who are not good at PvP. It is aimed at people who are comfortable with PvP and the skill requirements that come with it, but are still wary of losing their loot.

Guess that's gonna be all for now, if I had more to say I forgot it while I was typing the above ;d

Don't be goobers and betas, be fighters and survivors. Be the Chad you always wanted your dad to be (and that your mom's secret boyfriend is), to paraphrase one of the great Roman philosophers,

I'm 35, with a full-time job, 3 sports classes a week and other grown-up responsibilities and hobbies. No kids.

I play for fun. I'd play the same games even if I had 1 hour to play a day. So yeah, weak argument.

Play rogue on solos. Until they nerf it.

Also priest doesn't need heal pots, only bandages. Play priest in trios if u run out.

Trios are a good way to farm general random loot. Solo is for targeting specific loot like wood, ore, etc
