After you have changed the quantity of items and on which level they will be, save, exit, and start up the game.
This is for the people who start on level 1 and reach level 5 and have no ammo left, then they need to deal with gundamned zombies. Enjoy

For those of you who dont want to cheat, but would like the game a bit easier and/or would like ammo at level 5, just tweak it a bit and give yourself better loot boxes.
Well I hope you find a way to implement it.
I'll be frank, in my perspective it is basic game functionality for modern games on PCs. Even if it is a PITA to implement at this stage, it's the responsibility of the devs to provide such basic functionality.
People will find ways to cheat at your game. I don't want to cheat at the game. I have zero problem having my progress wiped when I die. I like that. Hell, I don't even use the bonus starter weapons because I want the full experience. I just don't want to have to start over at the beginning if I need or want to leave it when I want, not when the game (or you) arbitrarily tells me it's okay.
Right now, I reguarly finding myself wanting to play your game but don't. I really love the gameplay. As much as I loved FTL, which is my most played game on Steam I think. And definitely more than any AAA game that has come out in recent memory. But I'm often not firing it up when I want to play, because I may leave it on short notice and have to start all over.
An FTL system would be perfect. You save and it drops you out of the game. You die and you're wiped. If people want to exploit, ♥♥♥♥ em. They're just robbing themselves of the total experience. And they'll generally find ways to exploit anyway.
Don't punish players like me who want to play it as intended, but whose schedule is not always predictable.
Hey, like i said, dieing from gundamned zombies cause you have no ammo isn't always fun, you don't need to go out of your way to say we are terrible people, you didn't even need to add that sentence for ♥♥♥♥♥-sake. Also, cheating can be fun sometimes, like being able to remove all guns except a pistol that you has infinite ammo.
Your point is clear, don't worry about cheaters, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ us won't help anyone, unless they are cheating in multiplayer.
The first is using the ingame console. You can invoke it by pressing the F1 key. If you then type in "godmode(1)" (without the quotation marks) you will be invincible. The console can do more than that, like giving yourself more armor, health or weapons, but it's a bit more complex and requires some browsing the game files.
The second way is editing the settings.lua file in "/steam/steamapps/common/TeleglitchDME/". Inside that file, you can find a '["editorenabled"] = false' property. Change that "false" to "true" and Teleglitch will allow you to start at any level you want. Oh, and try pressing the numpad keys, they do some interesting stuff.
On an interesting note, doing the second way also enables the ingame editor (who would have known?) Press F3 to enable it and then F4. At that point, you can press the Tab key to display some useful hints ;) Unfortunately, I haven't yet found out how the most important stuff works (namely, working on individual modules and item/enemy placement).
I'm curious to try out some of these hacks/cheats whatevers. Do I need the editorenabled to be true to do the numpad stuff?
I want to play around now but I have a good save going I don't want to mess it up lol.
Exactly. It's not affecting someone else's game so who really cares?
I kinda wish they would make a mode where things are actually randomized, as in completely random chests and loot. Maybe even randomize up the level compositions (atm each level has some setpieces that always shows up). The vanilla game has a nice balance bu the experience is pretty similar once you learn the hoops. Shotgun and AGL in level 1, Nailgun since lvl 2, and so on.
I guess I'm spoiled by Binding of Isaac, where every run is different, you find different items and you can become ridiculously underpowered or overpowered. Maybe somebody can make a Isaac-esque mod for the RNG lovers like me.
