Hi, Auras are special effects that appear after using certain spells (generally, I haven't tried all classes, might be some exceptions) or when certain companions appear. Auras are linked to the character that summoned them and are floating around said character. They have different triggers, usually hitting something or being hit by something, As long as the trigger isn't... well, triggered, the aura stays. Auras are cumulatives, meaning you can have multiple instances of the same aura. However if a new aura is cast on someone with a different aura, the new one will replace all the current auras.
For exemple, you play a sram. You can have auras that create free traps, one aura per element. You create one blue aura. The trigger is "attack something" (it can be a mecanism, a monster an ally, doesn't matter). You attack something, the aura disappears, you have a free spell trap.
Now, you have a blue aura as before, but this time you manage to get a red one. Your blue aura will turn red and you will get a new one. And since the trigger is "attack something", if you don't attack, your auras will stay.
Basically, that's it. I might be wrong but i think you are limited to five auras at the time. Hope that helped you.
