um I hope you're not offended by what i said cuz I wasn't saying that you guys weren't helpful or anything. i thought it as a good thing as I said maybe it could mean that i have good 3* cards. and I'll know which ones to not recruit when I get a cover for them
The 3*s with 1 abilities are
colossus
cyclops
daredevil
human torch
iron fist
iron man
scarlet witch
captain america
daken (3 purple)
deadpool (2 black)
blade (2 purple)
she-hulk(2 red)
plus I'm juggling between getting rid of
she-hulk(2reds) sentry(1 red 1 green) or Storm(112)
and what about the hood? I heard it's a good card but I have 3 yellows and 1 black for him and I can't really tell if he's that great.
yeah I have rocket and groot and they're my highest 3* for now so I can't get rid of them yet but I do feel like some of my 2*s would be better. but it's a good tanker
Beast is not very good, even post buff. I've read people say Rags 3.0 is worse but whatever.
Keep Falcon. His utility is limited but he's very powerful in those situations.
When I first began -- over a year ago -- it was ill advised to not keep any 3 stars, save maybe the really really awful ones (Rags). These days it's tougher because there are so many and it's hard to keep up with roster slots. I don't like saying it but try minimalizing your one and two star roster over 3 star if possible. Six fully leveled two stars is a lot and should carry you through the transition. You won't want to level the two stars so much after you start transitioning, and you probably won't use them outside of very limited events like heroics.
I recommend checking out the D3publisher forums, though. That's the place to get info, not on steam. There are character rankings and thorough discussion for each character, and you'll receive an overall better response on roster management there as well.
ex. Garmora skills don't seem that weak when paired up with a red tile producer like Cyclops. I have played her back when Cyclops first came out and she worked well enough with him in team that they both balanced each other out.
A lot of the characters only really start to shine once you get the 4th or 5th cover in a specific skill and they suck before that so it's a good idea to look them up.

Also if you scroll down there is a link on the top post for 'character rankings'. Basically just people on the forum voting which chars a best to worst.
There's also a 'best builds' link which is what people voted on for *shock* the best build for each char.
1* is good for Lighting Strike and Hailstorm (I only ever use her in 1 star events anymore)
2* is good for Wind something, freezing and does relatively good damage.
3* is the same as 1* but only if you can level her up actually there's a load of other 3* characters I'd use before her.
Currently my roster is filled with high level 2 star characters because those are the ones I get in covers. I can do as much damage with max level Ares, Hawkeye, Storm (Classic)
So far I only have a few 3-star characters powered up enough to ever be remotely useful-Hulk, who's okay though IMO so far not that great save for having a lot of hit points. Captain America, who's a bit harder to play than a lot of characters, but prety great (I'm also planning on powering up the 2-star version at some point for the heck of it, though I prefer playing Thor). Storm, who IMO all 3 versions of which are useful (obviously 1-star only for events limited to 1-star characters though). 2-star version's blue ability is one of the best of any 2-star character AFAIK, on par with 2-star Thor's best stuff. Her other two abilities are "okay". 1/3 star's green and yellow abilities end up doing some decent damage, clearing out those annoying "hero" tiles (I liked it when they were environmental tiles) and powering up other abilities, and her black can be quite potent, adds up quickly over time.
My 3-star black widow is only level 78, but still useful, especially combined with Hawkeye, although I haven't had as much use for her lately, and wish I could power her up more.
Agreed. Given the infrequency with which you get 3 star and 4 star character covers, you should NEVER throw any of them away unless you have to (ie, there's no room in your roster and their cover is about to expire). You hold on to them and upgrade them when you can.
Also, AFAICT, 3 star Storm is 1 star Storm on steroids. A maxed out 1 star Storm is IMO awesome. I can only imagine 3 star Storm is moreso.
What you say is certainly applied to 4* covers. You should never sell them if you ever want to use them. Right now my max 4* is Professor X with 2/2/2, he is barely playable at this stage.
Keep Spidey.
His stun may not be powerful, but it's cheap which makes it very convenient to throw out onto the field in a pinch and potentially redirect enemy AP usage to other skills than e.g. Call the Storm.
Also, his purple is insanely good at high levels. The fact that you'll almost never take more than 2-digit match damage against enemies at about 1.5 times your level is nothing to sneeze at.
