"Unfortunately we cannot link your Mobile Marvel Puzzle Quest game to Steam. Reason for this is that Steam saves on a different server than Mobile. Because of this the information cannot carry over from Mobile to PC, and Vice Versa. We apologize for this inconvenience. We do not know offhand if this is something that will be implemented in the future. We apologize for the inconvenience."
This does make sense, since one of the top players here on Steam (puppychow) is nowhere to be found on the iOS leaderboards.
Hopefully they will change this in the future, OTOH, it would dramatically curtail any casual players hope of ranking high in events, unless they doubled reward tier slots.
Now, if someone can point me to the definitive way of linking iOS account with Android account via fakebook, I would greatly appreciate it.
Not linking mobile MPQ to Steam makes NO sense! Esp since they use Facebook to store your savegame, which can be accessed by either mobile or desktop Facebook apps/programs. On top of which, the reason I did not see puppchow in my leaderboards on mobile was because I was in a different bracket than him, not on a different platform. There are a couple of members of my alliance who play on Steam, though a majority play on mobile.
And having the cross platform saves would affect the leadboards in no way, since brackets are made up of both as well.
And yes, I did figure out how to link iOS to Android, and play on both platforms, as necessary (i.e., whichever phone has charge at the time, lol).
Now that I have been playing the game for well over a year, I find their excuse thin and disingenuous. In fact, I wonder if the real reason for not implementing it is the exact reason why I would want it...
Steam sales blow iOS and Google Play sales OUT OF THE WATER! I would totally by a Nick Fury's Doomsday Plan on sale for $34 vs a non-sale $100 Stark's Salary on mobile. Yeah, every once in a while, they throw in a bonus amount of HP, but it is minor at best. Other than that, if you want to save, you have to capitalize on an iTunes gift card deal, which would still get you no better than 33% savings, vs 66% (which has happened at least twice here on Steam).
I was going to start the game on Android but it does not make sense to start from the scratch because I was playing quite a lot on steam.
