How do you exit / save game mid run?
Maybe I am blind but I cannot find a menu button between runs

Just got this and had to stop mid-run to deal with RL stuff. My first thought was. "OK, how do I exit mid-run?" Tried every button on my controller and the esc button and couldn't exit the game. Finally had to kill it with alt-F4.

Being able to save and exit between levels seems like an easy QOL fix. As for people trying to save scum, just have each run or level start with a fixed seed for the RNG that is saved with the game, so no matter how many times you exit and reload, your rerolls for that level won't change.
Saving mid-run would be nice although the runs do not take that long (around 30 min).
I miss this so much. :(

The length of the run is irrelevant if life happens in the middle of it and you have to exit the game.

The game doesn't have an option to save in the mid run. And I think it's not necessary, because a run doesn't take long and besides, by adding this feature it takes away the sense of being a Roguelike.
And for the exit option, you can press "Esc" and go to the menu and then "Exit".
I'll have to disagree with my computer deciding to crash because of this game causing me to lose progress very often(it's a odd problem and not a it's to much for my pc issue)
I would recommend this game to all my gamer mates, if it had a save & exit button. Most of us are in our 30's and need to go deal with life some times. But I am to much of a perfectionist to leave a perfectly good build/run without the satisfaction of seeing it to its end or demise.

Please introduce the feature asap!
I'm not sure other similar games do have save/exit.
Neither Vampire Survivor, 20 minutes till dawn, Binding of isaac, etc.
Also runs are 40 minutes long, really it's not a lot.

You can absolutely quit a run and come back to it on Binding
+1 need a way to pause a run and come back to it, seems like a rudimentary feature
The devs know this and iirc they are working on it.
Interested in this game but not buying till it gets this most basic feature
And a fast/turbo mode

+1, and on top of that there's no confirmation that it will happen. It's not great when a run can be an hour long or more
what, how can a run be over an hour?
the timer is 60 sec at most, and i think last stage is 70 sec only.
Thats like 21 min total for all stages.
Some of us are really thoughtful but really bad at physical puzzles. At least I am lol
Guys there is no excuse not to have the progress saved between floors.
The game wants you to take the inventory management seriously - but prevents you from saving all this micromanagement hard work.
With so much QoL this game has - this feels like a very weird oversight.

That MIGHT give you an answer.
Just had a really good run end on wave 15 because when I finished with the shop and went to play the round the screen went black and I couldn't do anything. This game desperately needs a save function
