About armory

I'm not sure what purpose does it serve, could someone share me some light?

When you acquire an item in the armory it allows it to show up during the game. Until you acquire them, those items will not show up.

I guess the better question, is this room a combination of being a "trophy room" and a way to see which weapons you have unlocked.

Beyond those functions, there is nothing else that can be done, would that be a correct statement?

correct. for the moment at least. far as i know, the devs haven't said anything about there being more in the future; so i'd count on it just being eye candy
