Can't play tutorial with gamepad
So, my Xbox controller works just fine but when I try to start the tutorial, this first hint appears with white silhouette that moves. Well, when I use mouse and keyboard I see the same silhouette but there're also some text hints and buttons shown. But when I use my gamepad there's only this silhouette that endlessly moves. The main gameplay screen, I can move, yes, this black background for text tutorial, but no text or button advice. And whatever button I push, nothing happens. So, that's it. Any ideas? I just don't want to make a big mistake just because I don't know some control feature.
Btw, when I change my input device (just grab my mouse in my hand), the hint for this device appears.

I skipped the tutorial because of this issue. I thought that I was doing something wrong and, after 15 minutes of searching an empty room, became frustrated to the point of giving up. I played for hours after this, in the main game with working controls. Upon launching it a month later, now my controller isn't responsive at all within the game. The only "official" suggestion, disabling steam controller configuration, and relaunching the PC has no effect for me. Ironic that steam lists an "Official Pillers of the Earth" controller configuration ~ seems that would be a licensing issue for the publisher.

I'm not playing at a desk and do not want to use a mouse because it is uncomfortable.

I read all kinds of excuses for the shoddy-controller support in the steam version; mainly blaming Steam's handling of it (which no other game seems to have). Lucky to those few that it actually did ~ unlucky to those it didn't or those whom didn't know where to ask for help.

It would seem the developers don't actually care to add support for Steam's controller management because it works under "non-steam" testing. Odd to completely ignore the platform that sells it & launches your game. =P
Unbelievable as it sounds, it's 2025 and the problem persists. I am trying to play it and though ti sometimes works for one or two minutes the controllers stops being recognized after a while and there's no way I can play this without a mouse, which I do not want to use.
