Flashlight not working?

I've played this game several times, 50+, and i'm not good enough to beat it yet, but i'm getting a weird bug about using flashlights. I don't know if i don't understand the controls, if it's my system or what. But when i find a flashlight, or even start with one, they don't seem to emit any light or turn on at all. Is this normal, if not, is it fixable? Any advice would be appreciated!

First of all is the torch equipped? As in, in your hand and not in the inventory? If it is i recommend verifying game cache, something must of gone wrong loading the flashlight's light as it were. Could just be a classic Unity cookie error but yh verifying should do the trick!

It's equiped, already verified the game cache, nothing has worked. I'm playing the game on a Toshiba Satellite P875-S7200. Any known bugs with this model of laptop? Or maybe just with an intel core? I know some games are a little incompatible with stuff like this, and if there's a work-around for it, i'd love to know.

I've had a little research and found it could be something to do with dynamic lights. Some people have had problems with other lights such as the ones on the bots. I'll have a quick search for a fix and take a little look at your laptop but i'd say the next best thing to do is completly re-install Receiver. Let me know if you've found something :)

i have the same problem, reinstalled and everythng, same problem, maybe its because im on windows 8? idk i cant seem to fix it

I have Win8 installed on my desktop and it works perfectly fine. I'm not sure if it really helps but i also have Unity 4.0 installed on my PC (I use it to make games for college) and i haven't had any problems with receiver.

I've also heard problems with Intel graphics chipsets such as the HD 3000-4000 series, with Receiver.

If you have both integrated graphics and a graphics card, you may need to force Receiver to run with your card instead of the integrated. Here's a link I just posted in another thread:

Sadly this does not help me because I don't think I have a Nvidia card so I'm guessing I'm screwed for now.

Same thing happens to me (Intel integrated on a Dell laptop) but when I used my old Toshiba Satellite laptop with Intel Integrated, the flashlight worked fine. Makes no sense...

Hi,

Flashlight is switched on by just holding it at hand. No buttons to turn on/off are there.
I've had the same issue that the flashlight seemed to do nothing on my Intel HD 4600 integrated graphics card. I have updated the drivers and the problem is gone now.
