Griffa tokens-how to get them?

I know that you get them be leveling up and completing challenges, but is there any other way?...They're not some sort of micro-transaction thing, are they?

There's no micro-transactions, it's just something you earn by doing death runs so that you can upgrade max

There's a whole list of challenges that when completed will grant a token.

Personally, I've never had to try to get them. Just play the game normally and you should unlock them at an acceptable rate.
