I wish Steam forums had a "like" option.
By the way, I'd like to point out that Max can easily jump like five feet to climb one of those marked climbing spots you have to hold A for. The spots that further negate the point of having a jump button.
He's not just 'jumping' the five feet into the air, he's hauling himself up (as much with his arms as legs) if you actually bothered to look at the animation...
Definitely not.
The only real places he pulls himself up are the yellow marked edges/walls.
There are very few gaps where you can/need to jump over, but thats all doable.
There is no need in the game to jump very far at any given time.
So why waste a button on a jump mechanic
Am i the developer? How am i supposed to know?
But from what i experienced, people complained more about *not* having a jump button (e.g. Witcher, Thief..) then having a protagonist who can only do small jumps.
Apart from that, Mad Max isn't a game which is designed to let you jump around all the time. It's more like a "comfort" function, to jump over little obstacles instead of running around it (and i had those situations, so it was a good thing for me).
Why not make this an auto-function while the player is holding the run button.
Those where just my thoughts on why they *might* opted for that option.
And i've read enough criticism for "not jumping" in both games. But then again, it might not be crucial enough to spread a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on their own.
Would have been an option, yet they didn't opt for that.
Apart from "i don't want to press another button every now and then" i also see no harm in in doing it the way they did it.
You'll need to jump at some point and you'll wish you didn't.
Jesus.
Makes me fear for what epick meems bethesda-fans will come up with for Fallout 4.
