how do i store cars in my garage

i cant even access the freaking map

Drive them back to fortress/stronghold's (the ones owned by NPCs). If you find new bodies they are in your garage automatically. I think you can only access stored vehicles when you are in a stronghold.

The map issue only seems to be resolved if you trigger a cutscene - getting water, going up in a balloon, starting story missions.
