The way I would do it is this:
1. Open the game
2. Open Cheat Engine and point it at the MM executable
3. Perform an initial scan for an unknown value of either 4 bytes or more
4. Now either collect some scrap or spend it
5. Now tell it to search for a value that has either increased or decreased
6. Do this a few times until you are narrowing down the number of choices
At some point you may get this down to a small handful and you can then edit this value in the program to what you want. Within the game you might need to come out of a menu and back in again to get this value to refresh. The game may also utilise some kind of obduscation to stop this kind of cheating but 'Cheat Engine' can be told to use some common techniques to get around this.
But again I would advise you not to otherwise about a week from now you will be posting a message saying the game was too short! :-)
unfornately this didnt work for me :/
That's because the scrap variable isn't stored in 4 bytes. Change it to float and you will get several values. Modify them and it will work.
Making your car invincible, or giving you infinite fuel etc. should be fairly trivial also.
I have read, some complain that the game is too easy, pray for less water and gas. OMG! So they want only run over all the maps in looking for water or gas? I played for 7 hours without cheat, water is not enough, once you filled up canteen, the source of water is empty, died a few times on fights, was exhausted, scrap you gather ( 5-7 -50 as much) does not give you neither for seeds while upgrades cost 100- 500-600 and more.
I past the torments ( they are awesome, by the way), did not see any boxes with scrap flying.
It is common practice in some games, give to player minimum resources, which sirve for nothing and oblige to replay the game with the better stuff. I really hate this. I do not say that the game must be easy, but not be done for "robots". And I detest to have to repeat same things over and over again, as you can not save game when you want.
And who wants to waste the time running over maps for water, food and gas play Infestation and games like that.
Typical comment on this type of thread.
I've finished the game, there's not much more to do bar minefields and scarecrows.
I want to see how cool the car is with everything and don't want to spend 5 hours doing salvage areas.
1. Collecting those boxes during storms they give you 100scrap + more for every level of your perk i think the max is 150 so 450 PER BOX, and you can easily collect 4-6 boxes before the storm ends.
2. The enemy vehicle with a cog icon above it gives a ton of scrap if you return it to a camp, i think it's like 400 or 500.
3. Capturing a LOT of enemy camps will give you a a big scrap reward at each interviel, i get over 400 and have captured around half of them.
4. Building a scrap crew at each base will give you a few hundred scrap per location while you are offline, so you wake up with a good chunk of scrap.
(Collecting scrap by hand, scavenging camps, or doing anything else gives you so little it's not even worth it, but if you are an achievement hunter you might as well 100% the camps you do go to since you'll have to do it eventually)
I captured all the camps as I went along, that way the scrap comes to you for the longest period of time. Doing a lot at the end will work but it will take you longer since you missed out on all the time already where it could have been coming in.
