V6 is a V8?
Anyone notice that the Magnus Opus has a V8 sound, yet its supposed to be a V6? I lol'd so hard when I realized that the car said it was a V6... Definitely not.

Well, I got a rare bug where the car sounds completely cut out after a few hours, so I didn't find it so funny.

Anyway, it's a WB game, so you can expect that they encourage corner-cutting and provide only the bare minimum to finish the product.

you do realize that a V6 could sound just as beefy as a V8. Could be a more vintage engine, If you've driven a V8 in the game you will notice a difference. Wait till you install the Big Chief.

Yeah especially with open pipes without length and mufflers/resonators. Ever heard a four cylinder engine with no pipes? It sounds deafening and massive for something that sits in front of a jetta or behind a baja bug. The only reason engines have tones/notes is the exhaust plus manifold tubing/length/bends and muffler design. Otherwise they all sound pretty similar with explosions coming directly under the ehaust valves out of the ports/

If there's no catalytic converter on the car (and in the world like this there wouldn't be) a v6 will sounds like a v8, remember the exhausts are going to be made from scrap with holes in them which again makes a car sound like it has more grunt than it really does.
Go down to a legal street drag and you'll hear the noise of each car when the owners drop the pipes, heck even a 4cyl sounds beefy..lol

In that case, glad to hear it's not just budget cuts. Of course, I want to find a fix for that damn sound problem before getting back in the Death Rattle.

*Magnum Opus* Also who cares its a sound effect. Guess you have to be in to cars to find a sound that funny that you laughed out loud.

I haven't really gotten far in the game, but the main character did say 'nothing less than 8 cylinders will do!' early on.

I've actually heard minor differences in the engine sound as you upgrade through each of the V6's - I could be just imagining but they seem to have a different pitch or something...

Yet to get the V8 (been taking in the sights =p) so would be very surprised, given each V6 seems to have a slightly different pitch to it, that the V8 would sound the same...

The V8 does sound different, and I've also had the engine sound cut out on numerous occsasions so I'm guessing it must also be a hybrid lol

Yeah, and when you get your V6 engine, Max flips its ♥♥♥♥. For the developers of Just Cause, the writing in this game was a very pleasant surprise, I'd say on par with the new Wolfenstein games.

I never said I didn't like the game, I said that WB Games is a cheap developer that probably doesn't care about the game very much. Why else would they make zero effort to market it?

Compare these two. There is a BIG difference between a V6 and a V8

V6 straight pipes

THIS IS A V8

I've drive a loud V8 everyday, and I know the difference. Even if you cam a V6, it will never have that sound of a V8. I know that for a fact.

Too bad in game the v8 sounds dissapointing. When I dropped in that "perfect v6" I reveled in the screaming whine as I tore down desolate highways. Now with and improved big chief and its neutered droning I sad face.
