Is it worth giving water to wanderers?
I've done it twice now, and all they do is reveal 1 scrap location each time? With 2 scrap each? All of that water for ~20 scrap, not sure that's a good deal, and the potential danger it is to get out of your car and go help them.

Max is a selfless person. If you can spare it do So. The worst moments are when you give them water and either you get run over or they do. Tragic still you get some scrap.

I'm not a jerk so I stop and give them water. Sometimes i pretend i make them do things for that water.

i prefer to fire my harpoon on them and drag them across the wasteland

thats why they call me mad max

I've always given them water... but would be sweet if these guys had a percentage based chance of setting you up (like the cutscene starts and three vehicles pop up over a hill and attack you).

I got a token after giving them water 5 times.
I still keep giving it when i find them.

They kinda tell you about some locations. Sometimes it's minefields, so you don't have to aimlessly drive Chum's buggy for hours trying to find one.

Apparently, you do because until this thread, I didn't even know about them.

They show up on the map without the buggy as well. I usually find them than get the buggy later because that buggy feels like I am riding an ostrich and have no control.

I know, right? I was swimming once and found someone drowning. I dragged her back to shore, did CPR and got her breathing again. And she's like, "You saved my life! ...you handsome man." I'm pretty sure those were her exact words. But that's beside the point.

No cash reward. No offer of gratitude sex. Saw a diamond ring on her finger that would have gone down to the fish had I not decided to help her. Did she hand it to me for saving her life? No! I didn't get a damn thing!

Some people are so selfish.

Water is a finite resource in the game. All these people gasping and dying of thirst, they need to understand that I'm the type of good guy hero that will perhaps avenge their deaths. Not so much the kind that will prevent their deaths. Like, by giving them some of my water. As the OP said, it's just not really a good deal...

It's a fine ethical distinction, but it's important to me.

Less so to them. It seems they're now dead.

The first time I saw a group with the little water symbol I thought they were water carriers or something so I killed them. Turns out I was wrong.
