Can't climb step to reach scrap

Guys, I have a box with scrap inside and I need to climb this step but it seems impossible, any thoughts?
(the other side is the same thing)

Does jumping not get you high enough? I spent ages trying to get some scrap from on top of a rock before figuring out I could jump. I don't recall the game ever telling me that I could and since it used such a bizarre choice of button (left trigger) I assumed you couldn't for the first 5 hours of gameplay :p

Yeah...i'm stunned. I've been playing for 15 hours and I didn't know we could jump...

This is what you get for not looking into the options menu.
Yes there is a jump button but it's 90% useless since climbing involves context sensitive actions.
Jumping in a fight is most hazardous as well because it leaves you open to attack.
There are some areas that can only be accessed by jumping tho, but they are rare.

OMFG..... 96 hours logged, just found out I can jump..... I've been ejecting out of the strategically positioned car until now to conduct all half-step jumps throughout the game...

The controller jump button is strange. Trust me, knowing how to do it doesn't necessarily make the game any easier -_-

26 hours in. had no idea i've lost scrap i couldn't ninja roll into. This is hugely helpful

yeah i couldnt work out how to get to one of the baloons looked up a video on youtube and was like f-ck me you can jump. sure its not mentioned in the tutorial

ive been playing for 50 hours and i just read this and realised theres a jump button, are you kidding me, ive been using the dodge button thinking it was jumping
